Verdict: Attio is a flexible, modern CRM that suits startups, venture-backed companies and teams that want to shape the CRM around their own data. The free plan covers up to 3 seats, and paid seats start at $35 per user per month on annual billing. It fits less well if you need deep reporting out of the box or a large marketplace of integrations, which is where HubSpot and Salesforce are stronger. Prices below are vendor-published, checked September 2026.
| Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing | Seats | Objects | Records |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Up to 3 | Up to 3 | 50,000 |

What Is Attio CRM?
Attio is a customer relationship management (CRM) platform built around a flexible data model. It was founded in 2019 by Nicolas Sharp (CEO) and Alexander Christie, is headquartered in London, and lists a team of more than 190 people across Europe and the US. In August 2025 the company announced a $52 million Series B round led by GV.
Where older CRMs start from a fixed structure of leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities, Attio starts from objects and records. People, companies and deals are the default objects, and you can add custom objects for anything your business tracks, such as investors, partners, properties or product workspaces. Each record can carry custom attributes, relationships to other records and formulas.
On top of that data model, Attio adds the features you would expect from a sales CRM:
- Automatic contact sync and enrichment: Attio connects to your email and calendar, builds records from your communication history and fills in company data automatically. Both features are on the free plan.
- Lists and pipelines: any set of records can become a list or a kanban pipeline with its own stages and attributes.
- Workflows and sequences: automations run on credits, and email sequences arrive on the Pro plan.
- AI features: Ask Attio, AI agents, call intelligence and an MCP server, depending on plan.
- Developer access: an API, webhooks and an App SDK for building your own extensions.
How Does Attio’s Data Model Work?
Think of Attio as a CRM that behaves partly like a database. Every object is a table, every record is a row and every attribute is a column you can define. A relationship attribute links records across objects, so a deal can point to the company, the champion, the investor who introduced you and the partner who resells the product.
This matters for two kinds of teams. The first is a team with an unusual go-to-market, for example a venture fund tracking founders and portfolio companies, or a product-led company tracking workspaces and usage. The second is a team that wants the CRM to hold product and billing data next to sales activity, which the API and custom objects make possible.
The trade-off is setup. The free plan allows 3 objects, Plus allows 5 and Pro allows 12, with unlimited objects only on Enterprise. If your model needs many custom objects, that limit, not the seat price, may decide your plan.
How Much Does Attio Cost in 2026?
Attio publishes four plans. Annual billing saves about 20% compared with paying monthly.
- Free ($0): for individuals exploring the product. Real-time contact syncing, automatic enrichment, up to 3 seats, 3 objects, 50,000 records and 50 GB of file storage.
- Plus ($35 per user per month annually, $44 monthly): for small teams. Adds private lists and enhanced email sending, with up to 10 seats and 250,000 records.
- Pro ($79 per user per month annually, $99 monthly): for growing teams. Adds call intelligence, sequences, permission controls and advanced reporting, with unlimited seats and 1,000,000 records.
- Enterprise (custom, annual): unlimited objects and teams plus security and admin controls.
Credits: the part of the bill that moves
AI features and automations consume credits. Each plan includes seat credits (100, 500, 1,000 or 2,500 per user per month from Free to Enterprise) and workspace credits (250, 1,500 and 10,000 per workspace per month on Free, Plus and Pro). Extra workspace credits cost from $70 per month for 5,000 on annual billing, rising to $475 per month for 50,000. Teams that automate heavily should estimate credit use before comparing Attio with a flat per-seat CRM.
Worked example
A five-person sales team on Plus with annual billing pays 5 x $35 = $175 per month, or $2,100 a year. The same team on Pro pays 5 x $79 = $395 per month, or $4,740 a year, before any extra credits.
Startup discount
Attio’s startup program offers 80% off the annual Pro plan and credits in the first year and 30% off in the second year. Attio says eligible startups must be VC-backed, have signed up within the last 90 days and be incorporated less than 10 years ago, and the discount covers workspaces of up to 10 seats.
Who Is Attio Best For?
- Seed to Series B startups that run founder-led sales and expect their process to change often. The startup discount makes Pro affordable in year one.
- Venture capital and private equity firms that track relationships across founders, companies and co-investors, which suits custom objects and relationship attributes.
- Product-led SaaS teams that want product usage and account data in the CRM through the API.
- Teams leaving spreadsheets or Notion that like a flexible, table-first interface.
It is a weaker fit for a large sales floor that needs mature forecasting, territory management and a wide partner ecosystem on day one, or for a company that wants CRM, marketing automation and a help desk from one vendor.
Attio Pros and Cons
Public review volume for Attio is still modest compared with older CRMs. When we checked in September 2026, Capterra showed a 3.8 out of 5 average from 8 reviews, with customer service the lowest sub-score at 3.1. G2 lists several hundred Attio reviews. The themes below come from those two sites.
| What reviewers like | Where it’s reported | What reviewers criticise | Where it’s reported |
|---|---|---|---|
| Modern, intuitive interface | Capterra, G2 | Reporting is less deep than established CRMs | Capterra, G2 |
| Flexible customization of objects and attributes | Capterra, G2 | Learning curve when designing a custom data model | G2 |
| Chrome extension and email integration | Capterra, G2 | Credit-based automations can get costly | Capterra |
| Built-in AI features | Capterra | Support responsiveness | Capterra |
| Lower cost than HubSpot for comparable use | Capterra | Missing items such as activity history inside deals | Capterra |
Our read: the praise is about how Attio feels to use and how far it bends to your process. The criticism is about maturity, which is typical of a younger platform competing with vendors that have had two decades to build reporting and integrations.

Is Attio Worth It?
For a startup or a relationship-driven firm, yes. The free plan is generous on records, the Plus plan is priced below comparable HubSpot tiers once onboarding fees are counted, and the data model handles use cases that would need custom development elsewhere. Before committing, map how many custom objects you need and how many workflow runs you expect each month, because object limits and credits are what push teams up a tier.
If your priority is a single vendor for marketing, sales and service, or a large sales team that needs advanced forecasting today, start with HubSpot or Salesforce and revisit Attio as it matures.
