What does 'Incident Reporting' mean?

An incident report is a written record of a specific incident's facts. The report usually pertains to a worksite accident or injury and any strange worksite incidents, including near misses. After an incident or injury, incident reports should be completed as soon as feasible. The report can only be used or distributed within the company. However, if the occurrence is severe enough, it will very certainly need to be reported to insurers, regulatory organizations, or the police. Any incident involving worker safety should be documented, no matter how minor it appears.
