What is Self-Service Kiosk?
What does 'Self-Service Kiosk' mean?
A self-service kiosk is the on-site point where an arriving visitor checks themselves in, picks the service they came for, and takes a numbered ticket without speaking to anyone first. Kiosks run on a tablet, a wall-mounted screen or a vendor-supplied terminal with a ticket printer. The kiosk is often the single biggest change a branch notices, because it moves triage away from the front desk and captures why each visitor came before they reach a counter.
