What is Self-Hosting?

What does 'Self-Hosting' mean?

Self-hosting means the software runs inside infrastructure you control rather than the vendor, usually from an open-source build, a container image or a licensed enterprise package. For agent platforms this is often the deciding feature, because agent runs carry the prompts, documents and credentials of the systems the agent touches. Check which parts are covered: some vendors self-host the runtime but keep the control plane and run records in their own cloud.
