What is Mastra?
Mastra is a TypeScript framework for agents that call functions and act on connected systems, together with typed workflows that branch, retry and pause for a person to approve a step. Both agents and workflows are published as API endpoints or as Model Context Protocol servers. Every run emits traces, latency, token and cost figures, and evaluation scores against stored test cases. The core is Apache 2.0 licensed and runs on any Node host. Mastra Platform is the hosted version, billed as a monthly plan plus metered CPU time, observability events, memory tokens and storage, while the self-hosted enterprise licence is a flat annual fee with no per-trace metering.
