What is Letta?
Letta runs agents that keep their memory, identity and capabilities between sessions, built on the virtual context management approach its founders published as MemGPT. Rather than resending a whole history on every call, the agent decides what to hold in its working context and what to write to longer-term storage, then reads it back when it becomes relevant. It is reachable through an API, through a command-line client installed from npm, and through a hosted platform that also supplies models, remote sandboxes and server-side actions on credits. The server is open source and can run inside your own infrastructure.
