Quick answer: Atera charges per technician, not per device, and every plan covers unlimited endpoints. For internal IT teams the plans are Professional $149, Expert $189 and Master $219 per technician per month billed annually ($169, $229 and $269 billed monthly), plus a custom-priced Enterprise plan. For MSPs they are Pro $129, Growth $179 and Power $209 billed annually ($159, $209 and $249 monthly), plus a custom Superpower plan. Every plan has a 30-day free trial with no credit card. Prices are vendor-published by Atera in USD, checked September 2026.
Atera is one of the few RMM vendors that publishes its prices, and its pricing model is the main reason buyers look at it. Most rivals bill for every managed device. Atera bills for every person who logs in to the console, so a two-person team managing 900 laptops pays the same as a two-person team managing 90.
This guide covers both Atera price lists (IT departments and MSPs), what each tier adds, the add-ons sold on top, worked costs for common team sizes, and how the per-technician model compares with per-device pricing from NinjaOne and others. A note on sources: Atera’s live pricing pages load the dollar figures by region, so the plan prices below come from Atera’s own 2026 pricing guides for IT departments and MSPs, and the plan features come from the IT department and MSP pricing pages. Confirm the figure shown for your region at checkout. Worked totals are our own arithmetic.
How Much Does Atera Cost a Month?
Atera sells two separate price lists. Pick the one that matches how you work: internal IT supporting your own company, or an MSP supporting clients.
| Atera plan | Who it is for | Billed annually (per technician/month) | Billed monthly (per technician/month) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional | IT departments | $149 | $169 |
| Expert | IT departments | $189 | $229 |
| Master | IT departments | $219 | $269 |
| Enterprise | IT departments | Custom quote | |
| Pro | MSPs | $129 | $159 |
| Growth | MSPs | $179 | $209 |
| Power | MSPs | $209 | $249 |
| Superpower | MSPs | Custom quote | |
Annual billing saves $20 to $50 per technician per month depending on the tier. On the IT Master plan that is $600 a year per technician; on the MSP Power plan it is $480.
There is no free plan. The 30-day free trial is longer than the 14-day trials NinjaOne and Syncro offer, and it does not ask for a card.
Is Atera Priced per Device or per Technician?
Per technician. Atera’s support site puts it plainly: “you only pay per technician. A technician can support an unlimited number of customers, who have an unlimited number of devices.” Every plan on both price lists is sold as “pay-per-technician for unlimited endpoints.”
Two things follow from that. First, your bill does not move when you enroll more devices, add a client, or open a new office. Second, your bill does move every time you add someone to the console, including part-time staff who only need to read tickets. Before you buy, count every person who will need a login, not only the full-time technicians.

What Each Atera Plan Includes for MSPs
All MSP plans include the AI Copilot, ticketing and help desk, Windows support, classic reports, IT automations and 24/7 chat support. The detail that catches MSPs out: Mac and Linux support starts at Growth. The Pro plan manages Windows devices only.
- Pro ($129 annual, $159 monthly): remote monitoring and alerts, remote management with scripting, software deployment and patching, Splashtop with up to two concurrent sessions, patch and software management, knowledge base, up to five custom support addresses, a one-month audit log, API access, SLAs with automatic time tracking, contracts and invoicing, Azure AD integration and the mobile app.
- Growth ($179 annual, $209 monthly): adds Mac and Linux support, unlimited concurrent Splashtop sessions, AnyDesk remote access, 11 preset reports, up to 10 support addresses, up to five custom asset types, file transfer up to 15GB a month, a six-month audit log, and QuickBooks Online and Xero integrations.
- Power ($209 annual, $249 monthly): adds up to 10 custom reports, unlimited support addresses, up to 20 custom asset types, file transfer up to 50GB a month, a 12-month audit log and data recovery.
- Superpower (custom): adds SSO, continuous Azure AD sync, a private software repository, Network Discovery, unlimited custom reports, a seven-year audit log, a HIPAA BAA and a 99.9% uptime SLA.
Atera Add-Ons and Extra Costs
Atera lists add-ons that are “available on all Atera plans” and priced per technician per month, with free trials whose “terms vary by add-on.” The two named on the pricing pages are Network Discovery (discover, map and monitor unmanaged endpoints and SNMP devices, included from Enterprise and Superpower) and a secure remote access add-on that lets employees reach their work devices without a VPN. Atera’s AI agent, Robin, is sold as a separate subscription on top of the plan. Atera does not show add-on prices in the page text we could read, so ask for them in writing with your quote.
What you do not pay: a per-device fee, a per-client fee or an onboarding fee is not listed on either price list.
What Will Atera Cost Your Team? Worked Examples
These totals use annual billing and the list prices above. They are our own arithmetic, before tax and before any add-ons.
| Scenario | Plan | Monthly cost | Yearly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo IT admin, any number of devices | Professional | $149 | $1,788 |
| Three-person IT team | Expert | $567 | $6,804 |
| Five-person IT team | Master | $1,095 | $13,140 |
| Two-technician MSP with Mac clients | Growth | $358 | $4,296 |
| Six-technician MSP | Power | $1,254 | $15,048 |
On monthly billing the same three-person Expert team pays $687 a month, or $8,244 a year, which is $1,440 more than the annual commitment.
Is Atera Cheaper Than NinjaOne and Other RMMs?
It depends almost entirely on how many devices each technician looks after. NinjaOne prices per device and publishes a range: from $1.50 per device per month at 10,000 endpoints up to $3.75 at 50 or fewer, varying by region and products. Syncro and Level sit at opposite ends: Syncro also bills per technician ($129 to $179 on annual terms for MSPs), while Level charges $2 per device per month after 10 free devices.
| One technician managing | Atera Professional (IT) | Level ($2/device after 10 free) | NinjaOne (published range) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 devices | $149/month | $100/month | Up to $187.50/month at $3.75 |
| 150 devices | $149/month | $300/month | Quote; between $225 and $562.50 |
| 500 devices | $149/month | $1,000/month | Quote; between $750 and $1,875 |
The NinjaOne column is only a bound built from its two published end points, not a quote. The pattern still holds: per-device pricing wins for a small fleet per technician, and Atera’s model wins as devices per technician climb past roughly 75 to 100. For the full head-to-head on features as well as price, see Atera vs NinjaOne, and for NinjaOne’s own terms see NinjaOne pricing.
Is Atera Worth the Money?
Atera is good value when three things are true: you have a high ratio of devices to technicians, you want ticketing and RMM in one subscription, and your team is small and stable in size. It is weaker value when your team has many occasional console users, when you need deep Mac management (compare an Apple-focused tool in our MDM software guide), or when you manage very few devices per person.
Two practical checks before you sign. Confirm which tier your trial account is set to, so you do not build workflows on features your paid plan lacks. And if you are an MSP with any Mac or Linux clients, budget for Growth, not Pro.
How to Get the Best Price on Atera
- Commit annually if your headcount is stable. The saving is roughly 12% to 19% depending on tier.
- Trim console seats. Ask Atera which roles can work through the end-user service portal so that only hands-on technicians need a paid seat.
- Price the tier by the feature you need most. AnyDesk access and six-month audit logs push IT teams to Expert; Mac support pushes MSPs to Growth; a BAA pushes both to the custom tier.
- Get add-on prices in writing before you rely on Network Discovery or Robin.

Atera Pricing FAQ
How much is Atera a month?
From $129 per technician per month (MSP Pro, billed annually) or $149 (IT Professional, billed annually). Monthly billing costs $159 and $169 respectively. The top published tiers are $209 (MSP Power) and $219 (IT Master) on annual terms.
Does Atera charge per device?
No. Every Atera plan covers unlimited endpoints and you pay only for technicians who use the console. Adding devices or clients does not change the bill.
Is there a free version of Atera?
There is no free plan. Atera offers a 30-day free trial on every plan, no credit card required.
What is the average cost of RMM software per month?
There is no single average because vendors bill on different units. Published examples from September 2026: Atera $129 to $219 per technician, Syncro $129 to $179 per technician on annual terms, Level $2 per device after 10 free, SuperOps $1.20 to $2.50 per endpoint for IT teams, and NinjaOne $1.50 to $3.75 per device. Convert everything to cost per device at your own fleet size before comparing.
Which Atera plan supports Mac and Linux?
All IT department plans include Windows, Mac and Linux. On the MSP price list, Pro is Windows only; Mac and Linux support starts at Growth ($179 annual).
Is Atera an Israeli company?
Yes. Atera lists its headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel, with further offices in New York and the Netherlands. It publishes prices in US dollars, although its live pricing page loads prices by region.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Both options are offered on every published plan. Moving to annual cuts the per-technician rate by $20 to $50 a month, so it usually pays once your team size is settled. Check the renewal and downgrade terms in your order form.
