Spotsaas Editor’s POV

TeamViewer's free tier is genuinely useful for occasional personal remote access—screen sharing, file transfer, and unattended access all work without payment limits. The interface is straightforward: connect, authenticate, control. For business use, the paid plans ($49–$99/month depending on features) add session recording, multi-monitor support, and priority ...Read more

TeamViewer pros and cons

Easy to use, sometimes buggy

What do you like best? TeamViewer is fairly intuitive. Connecting to computers either via partner ID and password or via your TeamViewer account is relatively easy. What do you dislike? 1/4 of the time, I lose my connection to the remote Mac OS computer upon connect. When this happens, I usually see the screensaver or computer lock screen but cannot interact with either. Subsequently, I cannot connect to that computer until someone on the remote end reboots it. Because no one is on ...

Team Viewer

What do you like best? The thing that I like the most about TeamViewer is that when I am having a problem with my computer or I don't know how to do something on my computer I can have someone jump on my screens and walk me along the process. What do you dislike? The only thing that I would have to say that I don't like about TeamViewer is that once in a great while I will give my computer and password to the person I want to take over my computer and it doesn't work. ...

Corporate Blessing

What do you like best? I love that our Corporate team can easily access my computer to help me troubleshoot and see what I am seeing. What do you dislike? It has frozen once before, but I think it was because my computer is old and does not work well any more. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Communication, troubleshooting, IT, help with my day to day job activities.

Practically a scam!

I had been a long time user for personal use and enjoyed the free version of TeamViewer for that use case especially because it's cross compatibility with Linux. However when I became a commercial user, that is when things went down hill. All of a sudden I was unable to log in to my account from all of my computers (own use) to only a couple. Being a paid customer was actually more restricting. But that's not where things started getting horrible. I became a paying customer because I ...

TeamViewer is a top of the line remote support and collaboration tool!

What do you like best? Allows me to remotely support users all across the country and world. Server component allows me to remotely access my own servers, even before they are logged in, with a much easier interface than using a DRAC solution. What do you dislike? File transfers over TeamViewer can be a little bit slow sometimes, but not bothersomely so. I really do not have any complaints about this software - it has enabled me to work remotely, and to support other remote users, ...

When Purchased right, (bundled with NinjaRMM), this is a huge timesaver and User happiness creator!

What do you like best? Fast and easy remote desktop tool for both techs and users. Super easy to configure and use. What do you dislike? Multiple screen management can be confusing for some users, but if they are trainable that can be quickly overcome. Pricing is very high unless bundled through an MSP or RMM tool like NinjaRMM, so many small businesses cannot leverage it's full potential. Recommendations to others considering the product: We love the dependability and ease ...

Teamviewer's billing policies are…

Teamviewer's billing policies are borderline criminal. They bury a 28 day cancellation notification requirement in their terms, and in small print in an email that arrives hours after you first purchase their services. They will threaten you and throw your account to collection if you fail to pay for a new year in advance, even if you notify them you wish to cancel before the renewal date and the new contract takes effect. This is not legal in every jurisdiction, and they depend on you to ...

TeamViewer

TeamViewer works well for me and has done so for some years, but they are now a difficult and obnoxious company to work with and have shifted their focus to 100% revenue not customer service. Not a company I can continue to use I am afraid.
