What is Scaniverse?
Scaniverse is a free mobile 3D scanning app supporting LiDAR and photogrammetric capture with Gaussian splatting, and it processes on the device rather than in the cloud — so scans complete without a connection and the imagery never leaves the phone. It exports to standard formats including OBJ, FBX, GLB and USDZ. It is owned by Niantic and is free with no scan limits, which makes it the obvious starting point for anyone testing whether phone-based capture is good enough for their use.
