What is Polycam?
Polycam turns a phone into a 3D scanner, supporting LiDAR capture on compatible iPhones and iPads, photo-based photogrammetry on any device, and Gaussian splat capture. Scans process in the cloud and export to common formats including OBJ, GLTF and USDZ, plus point clouds and floor plans. It made 3D capture accessible to people who would never install desktop photogrammetry software, and is used for interiors, objects and small sites. It is not a survey tool — accuracy is adequate for visualization and rough measurement, not for engineering deliverables.
