Do not trust the well-rated reviews. I do not recommend protonmail to anyone. My account was blocked without any reason, although I did not conduct any illegal activity including spamming or something else. Contacting the customer support turned out to be ineffectual. They can only refer to violations allegedly done against their flawed terms and conditions. I advise everyone, who has protonmail accounts tied to cryptocurrency exchanges, to escape from this extremely unreliable email ...

I heard lots of good things about…

I heard lots of good things about proton mail. So I tried it in the pay version. The performance was good. However, in my experience if you want to link it with a domain or something, it becomes too complicated for normal users. If you are not a "tech" you may find it extremely difficult and frustrating to set up your domain. It wasn't possible, even with customer service, sadly I had to canceled my account. Email messages continually don't arrive at sender address. Its a very inconsistent and unreliable email platform. Nothing but frustration, uncertainty as to if your email messages will ever arrive. If you need timely communication, Protonmail IS NOT a good choice - not yet.

Upgrade process doesn't work yet have taken TWO subscription charges totalling nearly £100. Ignoring complaint emails to resolve. THEFT.

Good product, not great ux

Good product, not so great ux, Overall had a positive experience with them being a paid customer for over 3 years. the tradeoff between having advance search functionality and them not storing my emails in clear text is worth it.
