Protonmail used to be stress-free. However, it seems that they are under some form of pressure - maybe regulatory compliance or a shift in internal politics. Their compliance team seems to revel in their absolute power to suspend accounts. I've used ProtonMail for years…

I've used ProtonMail for years and they're an excellent email provider. They work with you if your account is disabled and are one of few providers to support PGP encryption, Tor, etc. I love the ProtonMail unlimited plan and can honestly say It's worth the near $200 that you pay. I plan on upgrading my account as long as it's not disabled.

Works very well for me

Works very well for me. I have been using Protonmail for several years along with other proton products. It has evolved over the years with additional functionality and stability. Just hoping for a Protonmail application that can run on Windows but for now Thunderbird does fine for that.

I’m currently locked out of my account

I’m currently locked out of my account, AGAIN! I’ve lost count of the number of times this has happened! And, I have a free account so its not because of any missed payments! Suddenly suspended my account

Suddenly suspended my account. I have been using them for over a year now without any issues and today whilst doing work and writing emails and reviewing old emails/appointments I was logged out. My first thought was that someone accessed my account but after trying to log in, I saw a message which stated that my account was suspended. For what???

A surprisingly large number of negative reviews for a company that I've had such a positive experience of so I thought I'd take the time to leave them a good review. Proton Mail has a really nice web interface, I massively prefer it to the Outlook and GMail. It's nice that it comes with a calendar and encrypted storage, it is missing the word/excel/powerpoint type apps that the other 2 have but having to download things and open them locally doesn't bother me that much and isn't that ...

I saw the negative reviews and decided to try to contact someone before trying the app to see for myself if it would be a waste of my time. Above all else I am desperately trying to remove all Google apps from my life. I wrote an email to Proton support and asked them straight up if they were doing anything about the problems their users are experiencing, I mean why would I even try an app with so many unhappy users?
