Read the reviews 1st
It appears if I used the service for our local club email list, where members have requested to be sent emails and I receive too many delivery failures I risk my account being terminated to protect the reputation of the sending email servers. The big providers don't need to do that so I'm unclear why it's needed. I should have read the reviews first before subscribing (and cancelling) my membership. ----------- Update after response from Proton: Thank you for the reply. We have around 50 ...

Absolutely foul behavior-- bordering on…
Absolutely foul behavior-- bordering on extortion--by ProtonMail. Since 2018, I had a free account and then tried their VPN for a year. Last week, ProtonMail tried to charge my credit card $158!!! No invoice, nothing. When I declined the charge, ProtonMail DISABLED my account. After numerous attempts to contact them, I was told not only did I have to PAY $158---for what they refused to say AND an additional $15 for disputing the charge!!! The Swiss running ProtonMail are unethical. Beware.

Protonmail is the Worse Email Ever.
Protonmail is the worse Email I have Ever Experienced, If you create too many accounts they will permantly ban your account and you will have to change your email on so many websites, If you try to appeal your ban, They probably wont unban you

An appallingly amateurish mail service
An appallingly amateurish mail service. I was using it for just over a year, and had to change the expiry date of my credit card to continue. Because my account had officially expired, it was impossible to log into my account and make that change. Then I got some gibberish about a security phrase that made no sense at all, and when I selected "mail" I got a blood-curdling warning about losing all my encrypted data, again making no sense at all to an end user. I had tried the Proton VPN, ...

I have switched all of my email to proton!
I have switched all of my email to proton mail. That's how much I trust them. I was originally recommended proton mail form Techlore on YouTube when I was trying to get away form the creepy spying from all of the major company's. The email tracker notifications are amazing because it prevents people knowing when I looked at their email the exact second I open it. I can highly recommend the service to anyone who is just looking to take back some privacy with a nice looking inbox without ...

Fraud company, no contact, no accountability.
Signed up for proton mail with one account for monthly subscription fee of $3.56. (Thankfully I took a screen shot of the $3.56 charge due). No confirmation about account setup or receipt for charge. Instead, they charged me $83.56 TWICE. I cancelled my account immediately and sent them a letter as well as my CC company reporting the fraud. Proton claims I set up two accounts, but can't account for the charges. Complete fraud run by some computer in Geneva. Do NOT do business with this entity.

Proton Mail issues with payment and password reset.
I have been using Proton for a few months now. I had a few issues in the beginning when making payments. Now I recently made another payment and they disabled my payment. The method was Bitcoin. Now all of a sudden they have disabled bitcoin payments. I reset my password. Then they ask me once I log in to enter my old password in order to access my emails and cloud drive files. Lastly, I am being told I cant do anything on my account unless I pay another month's of service with no option to ...

How I wish I had checked reviews first
How I wish I had checked reviews of this company before using them! Having had a basic account for some time, with no day to day problems, I upgraded to a full account. Then the problems started! The only good thing about the support is that they are polite. Unfortunately they resolved nothing and just kept asking for more and more information. I understand now that this is a ruse to keep delaying a real response because they have no intention of giving anyone a refund. I wonder what the ...

Don’t trust them
Let me preface by saying that I had high hopes for proton mail initially. I switched to proton mail from one of the larger email providers precisely to avoid snooping by those companies. Proton mail seemed promising with their claim to being a “private, secure and encrypted email service” - a perfect match so I thought. All was good until one day proton mail decided to close my account for a suspected “privacy violation”. I was shocked to read this and naturally appealed it. The customer ...
