Peace and quiet

Started off with yahoo many years ago. Switched over to Google when I got tired of being overwhelmed with ads. Now Google is doing the same. I don't want to deal with garbage, unsolicited, email advertisements. Proton has been a breath of fresh air. No unwanted ads shoved in my face. Thank you Proton. Encrypted emails are icing on the cake.

Extremely Disappointed With ProtonMail's Service

I've always thought of myself as a calm and patient person, someone it takes a lot to provoke into expressing negative emotions. However, ProtonMail succeeded in breaking this pattern, and unfortunately, not in a good way. Imagine waking up one morning to find your email account arbitrarily blocked. This account isn't just an ordinary one; it's where all your personal correspondences are stored, and is linked to vital financial services - for me, it was connected to Binance. Suddenly, you ...

"Security can be sleek!"

What do you like best about Protonmail? Proton Mail is the best way to not worry about searching if your email has been compromised, if others see your conversations, or if your content is unsafe overall. It's also a beautiful part of an ever-increasing family of software, from Proton Drive and so on. What do you dislike about Protonmail? With daily use comes a baggage of content, which sometimes can take a while to load. Proton Mail does its best with a simple and intuitive UI but ...

It does what it says and says what it does

I'm amazed that people don't take time to read. Proton Mail serves its purpose. I have a few accounts and I have no issue. One of them is monthly paid account of just $5. They state in their intructuctions that all incoming emails to Proton are encrypted while outgoing to gmail, yahoo etc are not. They said this from day 1. I do like the fact that you can send encrypted mail which requires a password for your receiver and you can also add a timer to the email so that it disappears after the ...

ProtonMail scams people for a false sense of security

ProtonMail was critiqued for giving out the IP address to Swiss authorities in regards to a climate activist. Therefore ProtonMail is only secure if you never log in on their service using your own IP. You should fully stop using their iOS application too. If you change VPN server on iOS your true IP can be exposed to all apps running in the background including ProtonMail which fetches your mail by push in their app. ProtonMail also makes it extremely hard for you to truly sign up with ...

Unfair Account Suspension for Bulk Sign-Ups - Unacceptable!

I am writing this review to express my absolute dissatisfaction with Proton Mail's unjust suspension of my accounts due to what they consider "bulk sign-ups." The fact that they deemed the creation of five accounts as bulk is nothing short of absurd. Proton Mail's decision to suspend my accounts without proper investigation or consideration for my genuine intentions is completely unacceptable. The lack of understanding and empathy from Proton Mail's team is disheartening. Instead of ...

They keep taking my subscription money…

They keep taking my subscription money even though I’ve told them to stop. Then ask unanswerable questions to try and make sure they don’t have to cancel it. Absolute fraud!!!!!

Blocked access but still kept charging me

suspended access to my email account due to non-payment but still kept billing me FOR 6 MORE MONTHS! How can you block a customer's access to services and STILL charge as if you are providing said services when the account is "cancel at anytime" status, no agreement with terms was ever formulated, AND THERE WERE NO SERVICES RENDERED? I hear the company isn't quite the security encryption champion and privacy hawk they advertise themselves as, either. They DO NOT delete your IP address.

Read the reviews 1st

It appears if I used the service for our local club email list, where members have requested to be sent emails and I receive too many delivery failures I risk my account being terminated to protect the reputation of the sending email servers. The big providers don't need to do that so I'm unclear why it's needed. I should have read the reviews first before subscribing (and cancelling) my membership. ----------- Update after response from Proton: Thank you for the reply. We have around 50 ...
