New to Looker
What do you like best? Being new to Looker we are loving the flexibility in the lookMK code. The possibilities are endless. What do you dislike? The tool could use more visualizations. Other than that the tool has been very easy to use and implement. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Our company does not have a robust BI tool. We have many reports being completed in Excel and that is not a great option for us!

Great way to explore data
What do you like best? Looker provides a way to answer questions that you didn't know you had. By using the Explorer feature. Their customer service chat feature is also very helpful. What do you dislike? Cost and Tier 1 customer support general knowledge. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Eliminate printing paper for utilities.

Looker is pretty strong as a BI tool, LookML is probably where alot of the beef is
What do you like best? The fact that a Technical Product Manager and a Director of Strategy can lead the analytics. What do you dislike? There's a lack of flexibility around some visualization tools, and you can tell when some things have been punted on on the roadmap - ie: Alerts, arrows, things added to check the box. I mean that's fine, but some of the smaller nuances are unclear. Also, we were forced to have two separate instances to support embedding which has been and will ...

Looker is the bombdiggity
What do you like best? I like how its really easy for someone with little developing knowledge to quickly learn how to quickly and relatively easily transform their raw data into something useable for analysis. One other thing I love is the EXTREMELY helpful Looker help staff What do you dislike? Although its easy to learn how to write LookML, some more knowledge for new users on how to effectively structure their models and explores would be very beneficial What problems are you ...

Amazing experience for both business users and developers
What do you like best? Ease of use and amazing customer support are by far their best selling features. As a developer it's invaluable to have someone right away to help you with your problem, saving a lot of time and patience. As an end user, the navigating and use experience is really important on determining the level of trust in the data and the tool, and second, the likelyhood that they're going to continue trying to get insights from data. The platform used is very important and ...

Looker is great for building centralized metrics, but the process can be very challenging
What do you like best? What I liked best for Looker is the ability to create customized metrics and have control over those metrics so that end users can use them for different need without building their own. What do you dislike? The LookML code can be a bit challenging to maintain or to be edited to adopt new needs. Rearranging charts in dashboards is a BIG pain. Where we have to hold on the charts and wait for it to move up a bit by a bit, and it often mess up other charts' ...

Beautiful insights, high learning curve
What do you like best? Looker just looks great and it's not particularly hard to design it to look this way. Drills and pivots are quick, easy, and effective. What do you dislike? Look ML feels a little clunky and if you're used to doing your reporting from complex SQL queries, it's going to take a LONG WHILE to learn how to use Look ML and plug in those queries into visualizations. More advanced features are not at all intuitive. I also wish it had an easy way of plugging in local ...

Someone looking for new ways to squeeze metrics from data
What do you like best? Scheduling reports, triggering alerts, being able to share Looks across dashboards to contextualize information What do you dislike? Limited default visualization options compared to competitors (histograms are a pain to attempt to create compared to the default bar graphs/pie charts) What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? With Looker I'm able to analyze disparate databases. This has allowed me to correlate outside ...
