Great platform for developers and analysts
What do you like best? I love the fact that Looker respects developer code process by allowing version control through Github. I also love the convenience with which I am able to quickly create new looks and dashboards. What do you dislike? The visualization tool is still a bit annoying when dragging tiles around the dashboard and moving one tile from the bottom to the top ends up destroying the original order. Recommendations to others considering the product: An amazing tool ...

Dashboarding with governance + data modeling
What do you like best? I love the idea of being able to build a data model and definitions and be able to release it to colleagues, to empower them to build data stories on their own. What do you dislike? The interface has a steep learning curve. Additionally, customizing the dashboard to correspond to a UX designer's vision is not trivial and may take a lot of time and effort. Recommendations to others considering the product: * You will need time-commitment to learn and set it ...

Great product; even better developer community.
What do you like best? I have been using Looker for 2 years, first as a business analyst, then as a data engineer. I love how easy the onboarding is for beginners, but then once I've past the initial learning curve, Lookml offers so much more flexibility and opportunities for integrations with other tools. What do you dislike? 1. The inflexibility for Lookml to extend from explore (unless using .submodel, or extend from an NDT). 2. Inflexibility to join across connections: currently ...

Use looker with front end developers to better chart and analyze data
What do you like best? The thing that I like best about looker is the ability to create custom looks and views so that we can make tailored dashboards. What do you dislike? One downside to using looker is that it requires having someone logged in to check out the dashboards. However, I do like that this is being improved upon in Looker 7, the slack integration should be awesome. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The problems that we ...
