For a beginner in German language like me Duolingo has helped me develop a solid ground which is helping me a lot in my actual German course. Before travelling to a new country I always learn the basics with duolingo. This is perfect for ordering in restaurant, communicating a little with the taxi driver….and not to be perceived as an uneducated American
