Bait and Switch
Bait and Switch. Baited us to pay for their property management system, amazing customer service support, offering our tenants free e-check and then going from zero to over $2 per echeck, zero customer service and a system that is not superior ... this should be against the law.

Bait and switch
Bait and switch! They sold me their program based on no fees charged to owners to pay their dues. Now it went from 0 to $2.49 for each transaction! They had the nerve to say the management could cover the fee for $1, which would have been sort of okay but they want to charge a $1 for all doors, even if they do not use the payment portal! That means my expenses would double!! This company has gone downhill, they used to offer great customer service and as of late you cannot get a hold of ...

Screwing over both landlords and tenants
Greedy company using landlords to squeeze $$ out of millions of tenants in the USA...just for paying their rent! Landlords get a bad enough rap as it is, now Appfolio is leveraging their clients' tenants to directly charge them $2.49 per online rent payment. This is a junk fee and Appfolio is taking it as straight profit. It's impossible to get in touch with anyone at the company as either a tenant OR a client. The fact that they are hiding from this and refusing to answer anyone's ...

Appfolio sucks
Suddenly we now have a mandatory transaction fee? Greedy landlords and now another greedy company to deal with. I'm going to look into other ways to pay rent. I'll go back to writing a check every month if I can. What a joke of a company.

Appfolio new fee for paying :(
Landlord says this was free but now Appfolio not the landlord went from offering a no fee ach check option to charging $2.49 for every ach, more than any other company out there. Seems like Appfolio is just changing the deal and now there is no way to pay on line without fee. See their stock went flying up - just a money grab by Appfolio for no extra

Landlords are ticked off too!
Sure, they offered us landlords to pay 1.00 instead of our tenants paying 2.49, but we have to pay the dollar for every single unit on every single property we manage, whether the tenant pays by echeck or not! Us landlords are just as fed up with Appfolio as our tenants are!

Appfolio has regressed with technology…
Appfolio has regressed with technology that people expect to help their daily lives. Many software and industries in general offer free ACH echeck options. After Appfolio pushed to get many residents paying online, they have begun to charge $2.49 per transaction. This is fee is not substantiated. They say they want to be progressive, but removing a free automatic payment option is a step backwards for most people. Paying with checks are now necessary again, which is ridiculous!

Like a 15 year old car
Like a 15 year old car, you never know what's going to break next and how much it is going to cost. It is surely not dependable.

A mean and greedy company if ever there…
A mean and greedy company if ever there was one. I am a retired and handicapped woman over 75 and live in a mobile home park and make payments to the property management company. Given that I cannot move around much I use the online portal to make ACH payments through my AppFolio account online. From this month on my lot rent of $225 the portal charged me $2.50 more than 1% of my lot rent. I had no choice in the matter. The park owner told me that it was APPFOLIO charging me not them and ...

Transaction fee to pay rent is ridiculous
I just wanted jump on the bandwagon of disgruntled tenants being charged a fee for a simple bank withdrawal. My landlord can now cash a check each month. I hope AppFolio loses a bunch of customers over this money grab.
