What is Multi-Modality Support?
What does 'Multi-Modality Support' mean?
In a medical setting, a modality is a type of diagnostic imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, or mammography. Multi-modality support means the system can receive, store and display studies from more than one of these device types, typically through the DICOM standard, rather than being tied to a single machine or vendor. Practices with mixed imaging equipment need this so all studies for a patient sit in one record.
