What is Batch Inference?

What does 'Batch Inference' mean?

Running a model over a large collection of inputs as a scheduled or queued job instead of one request at a time. Since results are not needed instantly, the workload can be packed for throughput and is often priced lower than real-time serving. Typical uses include scoring an entire dataset, generating embeddings for a document corpus, or classifying a backlog of records overnight.
