How to choose Agentic Analytics
Start from the model, not the chat window. If you already keep a semantic model or a dbt project, an agent that reads it will give you repeatable numbers from day one, which is the case for Omni, Count, Sigma and Looker. If you have nothing of the kind yet, the agent-first products build their own definitions as they go: Dot, Supaboard, Zenlytic and Tellius all start from a database connection rather than a modelling project. Next check what the agent is allowed to see and where it runs. Dot, Supaboard, Vanna, WrenAI, AnswerRocket and Tellius all offer a self-hosted or in-VPC deployment on their upper plans, and that is the deciding feature whenever an agent reads customer records. Then look for the query behind the answer. Supaboard prints the SQL beside every answer, AnswerRocket exposes the queries and parameters its agent ran, and Dot shows its work down to the query and its sources. An answer you can check is worth more than an answer that arrives faster. Finally model the bill at real volume. A department of 40 people on 50 dollars a seat is a very different purchase from the same department on a credit bundle, and the rate card is the only place that difference shows up. Count, Dot, Querri and Supaboard all publish a free entry plan you can test on your own data before any of that matters.
