Research methodology

How this report was compiled

This report aggregates 21 metrics from 6 independently published industry sources released between Q3 2024 and Q2 2025. Every statistic is attributed to its original source with the publication year, publisher name, and — where disclosed — sample size and research methodology.

Source selection criteria. We include a metric only when it meets three requirements: (1) it comes from a named, publicly available report, (2) it is based on a disclosed methodology with a sample size of at least 200 organisations or 1,000 professionals, and (3) it is directly relevant to crm software evaluation or operational planning.

Verification process. Where two sources report different figures for the same metric, we note the range in the full report and display the figure from the most recent or most methodologically rigorous source. We do not average conflicting figures.

Editorial independence. Spotsaas does not generate primary research data. We aggregate, verify, and contextualise published benchmarks to help software buyers understand market baselines. No vendor paid for inclusion or positioning in this report.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the average B2B sales win rate in 2026?
The average B2B win rate has dropped to 21%, down from 25% three years ago, according to Gartner's 2025 Sales Benchmarks. Larger deal sizes and more stakeholders per deal (now 5.4 on average) are the primary drivers of declining close rates.
How much time do sales reps spend selling?
Sales reps spend only 28% of their time on actual selling activities according to Salesforce's 2025 State of Sales report. The remaining 72% goes to CRM data entry, internal meetings, prospecting admin, proposal creation, and other non-revenue tasks.
What is CRM adoption rate among sales teams?
CRM adoption remains a persistent challenge: 43% of sales reps say their CRM hurts more than it helps according to a 2025 Salesforce/Forrester study. The main complaints are excessive data entry, poor mobile experience, and workflows that don't match how reps actually sell.
Does AI improve sales forecasting accuracy?
Yes — AI-assisted forecasting reduces error rates by 30-50% compared to manual pipeline calls according to Clari's 2025 Revenue Intelligence Report. AI models weigh deal velocity, engagement signals, and historical patterns rather than relying on rep self-reporting.
