Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Zoom's core strength is screen sharing and participant management at scale—the platform handles 300+ participants without degradation, and screen sharing works across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android without additional software. However, verify in your demo that the specific meeting size you need (under 100 vs. 500+) aligns with your plan tier, as participant ...Read more

Zoom pros and cons

  • High-quality audio and video for virtual meetings, especially with large groups.

  • Excellent customer service with patient and supportive representatives.

  • Easy screen sharing and whiteboard features for enhanced collaboration.

  • User-friendly interface and experience for both organizers and participants.

  • Limited marketplace selection for additional apps and connectors, restricting advanced functionality customization.

  • Newcomers might find the richness of features and customizations overwhelming without adequate support.

No Customer Service!

I have a paid Zoom account, that was started before COVID-19 and I have not been able to get any assistance since this COVID-19 started. My meetings are not saved, I have to keep starting new zoom meetings, and when I call for assistance, apparently not all paid accounts qualify for phone assistance. So I have to go to chat.. I have yet to get through to chat, there are always (regardless of the hours I call - at least 80 people ahead of me, and after hours of waiting, the number never goes ...

Deceptive phrasing whilst taking your money without answering simple queries

With a paid account, it automatically commits you to renew a yearly subscription. I wanted to ensure we choose in 12 months time whether we renew. When I went to select 'cancel auto-renew' for the subscription, the only option is Zoom deceptive phrase of 'cancel my subscription'. I thought it wouldn't terminate the expensive use for the next 12 months we paid for but I was anxious just in case. No accident for the dilemma they cause, a ploy to make people nervous that they are potentially ...

Horrendous customer service.

Horrendous customer service. The customer service is non-existent to horrendous. You are simply told that due to the large number of calls an account executive will call you back but not no time frame offered even though I repeatedly requested for it. Disappointing.

We moved from Go To Meeting back in…

We moved from Go To Meeting back in November last year for all our meetings. I can only say the ease of use of Zoom has been amazing. Before people were so stressed when software wouldn't work, audio was only one way that when we'd talk to them they were already in a bad mood. We've actually converted so many customers using zoom in 2020 that I just wish we'd had moved over sooner. There are faults, but I'm surprised how much better it has got suddenly with the extra publicity, why didn't ...

Obviously my school can use something else

Obviously my school can use Skype, MS Teams, Meet and NO THEY USE ZOOM really this is a $#!T, that's for sure, is insecure, YOU NEED TO PAY 14€ IF YOU WANT MORE THAN 40 MINUTES OF MEETING and I need also to insert a password, the waiting room was not enough so LET'S MAKE A PASSWORD LOCK, other than that? Backdoors, Hackers, Zoombombers, Security flaws. I love the fact that Zoom is trying to fix all this but this will not work, try more hardly Zoom
