Xero - great software but support is totally non-existent
Xero - great software, but support is totally non-existent. The system is great, really easy to use, intuitive and good value for money. However, just try to contact them or get a response from them on anything, including recent 12 hour system down outage, and you will find them totally useless. They are not an invaluable business partner, just a disposable commodity, so be careful when choosing system for your business.

Xero makes financial administration…
Xero makes financial administration easy for our business. We are now a paperless office by attaching purchase ledger emails directly to the accounting transaction. Also, recurring invoices are made so much easier by setting up automatically generated temeplates. The wider business love the expenses app and all reporting is quick and easy. The one annoyance is not having the ability to scan descriptions of invoices on one separate screen (like you can with Sage 50. This slows things down ...

From an accountants point of view
From an accountants point of view, working in Practice, Xero is a good package to use, user friendly and good support, but still has some important tweaks to adapt to the UK VAT system.

The customer service and support team…
The customer service and support team have been wonderful and very professional in their approach and also very helpful in explaining every step to me. They have given me a hassle free service and for that I would recommend them to anyone.

The platform is very good
The platform is very good. There are still areas for improvement, but the main issue is the confusing billing and delay in support response. As a UK based business we have to wait until the early hours the following morning for a response to a simple query.

The software has some great features but…
The software has some great ideas and great features but always “almost there” with new features. Payroll Pensions connection is clunky, with the NEST connection you have to manually calculate pensions for employees that are not eligible for tax relief! Payroll wages and salary section is terrible for people on different hourly rates, payslips have missing rates or hours and only shows a total in line items. Xero expect you to change the pay template every time you do wages to show rates ...
