Nice UI but bugs on VAT returns using MTD

I have been using Xero for about 4-5 months now. I tried to submit my first VAT returns and the connection between Xero and HMRC didn't work and got me stuck into a loop of connection attempts.I contacted customer service who said they were aware of this issue but had no ETA for a resolution and suggested I submit my VAT returns another way (this was one day ago at the time of writing, so slow bug fixes).Disappointing when you're missing 1 of the 7 main features they're currently falsely ...

Xero help during the pandemic

No help during the pandemic, even for some of the worse affected sectors like us, a tour operator to China. We have not even logged in or used the system 9 months, not even 10-20% off offerings. Other IT SaaS firms have offered us this without even asking.

Xero are OK - don't just save all documents in there though.

Xero are OK, but we feel a bit trapped by the document storage - there is no easy way to transfer out. We have to double save all documentation.

Add charity features!

I work for a charity and the capabilities on Xero are not configurable enough for our needs, particularly around restricted funding. Quickbooks has great charity features, which I would love Xero to add!

If not illegal it should be!

Software is fine but I went through advisor to help me set up the new program. I can not get the advisor out of my business now they continue to view my accounting and banking information and they do nothing of service. Paid them $1200 for services that they never completed or started for that matter. I had to learn the software myself and spent months setting it up. And NOW Xero is not allowing myself as the company owner to remove her from my personal banking information and accounting ...

Intuitive Accounting Package

Xero is a user friendly intuitive Accounting package. I have been using it for about 4 years now & would always recommend it to other companies. You don't need a huge amount of book keeping experience to get started. Tools like the Automatic Bank feed are invaluable & raising invoices is easy.

Hidden Lock code - Problem

After changing to MTD to do Vat return - found that a colleague was locked out of entering data eg Invoicing -turns out that there's a lock date that causes this -un-be-known to us - so contacted Xero help & had a reply from AMY who gave instructions how to solve the problem - & it worked - her instructions were excellent & easy to follow - happily the problem has now been resolved.
