Best business accounting software

I don't usually invest time in reviewing software (life's too short!). However Xero stands out above all other business accounting software. The designers have gone to a lot of trouble to anticipate the needs of small businesses. The software is easy to use and the Help Documents are probably the best I've encountered in any software product.

XERO HAS TURNED MY LIFE AS A BOOKKEEPER AROUND. WHAT A FABULOUS SYSTEM. I WILL NEVER LOOK BACK ON EXCEL SPREADSHEETS AND WHAT I LIKE IS THAT IT KEEPS EVOLVING YEAR ON YEAR. I CANT BELEIVE IM ON MY 3RD YEAR OF USING IT FOR MY CLIENTS AND AM READY TO TRIAL THE LATEST HUBDOC AFTER THE WEBINAR TO IMPROVE MY ACCOUNTS EVEN FURTHER..THANKS

Great Product

Been using Xero for a year now and it is a very impressive product, would recomend to anyone looking for accounts/payroll programme.

Fast, user friendly and simple!

We signed up for the free trial of Xero and very quickly subscribed for an account. The system is very easy to use; its designed in a way which allows you to easily import all data from your previous system (whether you're using an off the shelf or not). In addition, Xero support has been MASSIVELY helpful - our rep (Anand S) often emails and calls to check in - he always manages to answer any questions we have (no matter how long it takes), as well as providing useful tips - he definitely ...

I have found Xero an easier accounts…

I have found Xero an easier accounts package to use than some of the other packages available online and would recommend it to anyone looking for this type of accounting facility.

Fairly happy with Xero; but it can be glitchy

I'm fairly happy with Xero - it's great having everything in one place, no longer having to do my bookkeeping on a spreadsheet, and being able to have my bookkeeper and accountant have easy access to my accounts. However it does seem pretty glitchy; several times statement lines have been pulled in twice, so my bookkeeper has had to spend time sorting out duplicate entries. It would also be good to see some more metrics added, such as the ability to see a graph of monthly invoiced amounts, ...

I like the accountancy software

I like the accountancy software, it is easy to use. It's great for sending out an invoice in a couple of minutes, leaving me to focus on what I do best, write for a living. I'm a journalist and editor.However, getting hold of anyone for help is not impressive. It took me days to speak to someone and I dislike the fact you can't phone for help.

We use Xero for everything but dont use the payroll as too convoluted

We use Xero for everything, the only issue I have experienced is when using the payroll function. In all honesty, it is the only part of Xero that I dislike and has not been as user friendly. This is the only area that really let the system down. Otherwise a great user interface and simple to use.

Good overall

Good overall. Great connectivity to a variety of bank accounts and always adding new reports e.g. sales by product type. Inventory management is basic but may be sufficient (i have 40 lines and it works but i would like it to be clever e.g. grouping sub types)
