I'm a freelancer just starting out, and I’m wondering if Xero might be too much for my simple needs. I mostly just need to send invoices and track expenses. Any thoughts?

Depends on how you plan to manage your finances. Xero can handle invoicing and expense tracking easily, but it also has a lot of features that you might not use as a freelancer. You could try their free trial to see if it fits your workflow.
