Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

"Easy to Use Management Tool!"

What do you like best about Trello? Trello is perfect to set up weekly goals, create to-do lists, and manage the workflow amongst the team. The fact that you can create a card and make it as a template to reuse for similar tasks is handy. The Butler feature is by far, my favorite part about Trello. You can set simple to advanced automation triggers on your cards to eliminate constant manual updates. What do you dislike about Trello? I had to spend a lot of time understanding the usage of ...

"Simple, Visual, Effective"

What do you like best about Trello? I love how visual Trello is. With color coding of labels, ability to customize the backgrounds, and the overall look/feel of the boards, it can make collaboration a bit more personalized and "fun" and feel less daunting. My team members that are less "corporate" and work in a field environment/operations seem to really connect more with this style of work management as opposed to Excel lists with due dates, etc. I also like the due dates, reminders, and ...

"And you thought you couldn't organize yourself AND your team? Trello proves you wrong."

What do you like best about Trello? It's an organizational tool - that alone puts it at the top of my list. But, seriously, not all organizational tools are created equal. Trello is something else. It gives you the privacy of your own board: - creating multiple boards and customizing them - you can jot down any idea without worrying about being judged - have a daily checklist, so you don't miss a thing - list by category various projects - organize projects in different stages - colored ...

Inability to create dependencies. Recommendations to others considering Trello: - Make sure to use Boards for whole departments and programs, and create lists or even single entries for projects and tasks. - Create the entry on a list, and discover the many features by opening the entry's details. What ...

"Amazing tool for Organizing projects"

What do you like best about Trello? The columns allow you to organize lists with cards, timelines, and so much more. The things you can do are limitless. What do you dislike about Trello? I wish you were able to upload larger files without paying to upgrade your workspace. That has been a hangup multiple times. We can work around it but it does prove to be a minor inconvenience.
