I was encouraged to use some services…
I was encouraged to use some services to help my business. So I received a 3 month trial. The costs were more then my business supported. I was told if I cancelled prior to the 90 days that I would not have to continue services. I was charged the monthly fees prior to the 90 days. I have been auto drafted 3 months in a row so far. TERRIBLE
We have not had a very nice experience since starting with toast... we were not given proper training or information on how to run the system. The person that sold us toast has gone silent for weeks and does not respond to any emails. We have not been able to use the system in all the ways we have wanted to because we simply do not know how and have had no guidance since we originally started the process in September. Toast ruined my favorite restaurant.
One of my favorite local restaurants switched to toast this year. I recently had a bad experience using their software -- the shopping cart isn't visible from some of the web app pages, which makes it difficult to check out. I tried to bring this to the attention of restaurant management. While they understood the issue I was having, they indicated that it was essentially impossible to get Toast to respond to issues like this. Customer Service is not their game
The Toast product (POS) is great, but the customer service is extremely poor and the lack of support is challenging. I had to work too hard for all the assistance and commitment we needed to launch. If you're running a restaurant you can't risk losing business because you don't have the right support. The sales team set an expectation that wasn't met and then were patronizing when I reached out to them showing our struggles. After implementation I was typically told there's a video to watch ...

Toast is a great all in one POS with lots of cool features.
Toast is a great all in one POS with lots of cool features. The onboarding is amazing. Prior to COVID, the customer service was awesome; like ten out of ten awesome. Like most businesses, they have struggled staffing those positions again but I understand they have a whole new cadre in training that will greatly improve response time and availability. We have online ordering, rewards, gift cards and Toast Payroll. I would not trade it for any other system.
