Spotsaas Editor’s POV
TeamViewer's free tier is genuinely useful for occasional personal remote access—screen sharing, file transfer, and unattended access all work without payment limits. The interface is straightforward: connect, authenticate, control. For business use, the paid plans ($49–$99/month depending on features) add session recording, multi-monitor support, and priority ...Read more

NOT free for personal use
TeamViewer has statements all over their website that it is free for personal use but in fact they repeatedly falsely flag the accounts of vast numbers of personal users as being "suspected of commercial use". Once this happens you cannot use the product until you send in an appeal to get your access reinstated, which typically takes a month or more and may require additional steps. And then you may never hear back from them or may never get your access re-activated.This is FALSELY ...

Deserves a 0 star rating!
If I could give a 0 star rating, I absolutely would! I have been using TeamViewer for personal usage for many years. In fact, my only use of their software was assisting 2 computer challenged elderly friends to solve simple issues they were unable to handle. I must have used it about 3 to 4 times a year on average and I never charged them a cent because it is not my occupation and helping your friends without being paid is a pleasure. All of a sudden, earlier in 2019, the program pops-up a ...

Very poor response. Avoid if you can.
I have been using TeamViewer for a while to give occasional help to two non-computer literate relatives. It has been quite effective. However, the program recently decided that my use was commercial and has blocked me from more than a few minutes of use before shutting down. This makes TeamViewer virtually unusable.I've tried contacting their customer service department, as they suggest, to get the account unblocked. However, after a week or so, they still haven't bothered to reply. If their ...

Like everyone else my experience has…
Like everyone else my experience has been beyond awful. Had the subscription for two years. Canceled it about 8 months ago AND CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND DELETED IT.They are threatening to send me to collections if I don't pay the invoice. When I told "customer service" that it was canceled they conveniently had no record of that and said it DIDN'T MATTER IF I CLOSED MY ACCOUNT. The license is independent of a user account? What the ??? Absolute ganster way of running a company. I happily (so ...

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
I decided to use them without looking at their reviews as I thought they were a decent company - how wrong was I!I tried 2 times to pay them and their system wouldn't work and in the meantime their software would not work peer to peer so decided to knock it on the head and use another company. They have sent me to letters from a GERMAN CREDIT COMPANY saying they want payment with a huge fee on top - I am refusing to pay for a software which is not fit for purpose - the way I see it is they ...

TeamViewer is terrible. Avoid at all costs.
TeamViewer is terrible.I bought team viewer a bit over a year ago.I did it directly with their Sales team.I got the license with some line about auto-renewal in the small print (which I haven't seen back then. Of course the Sales rep didn't mention it at all in any of his emails.I haven't upgraded the software since I started using it, and, sure enough, 366 days later I get an invoice (the auto-charge failed because the credit card expired.I politely asked them to cancel the invoice, but ...
