Spotsaas Editor’s POV

TeamViewer's free tier is genuinely useful for occasional personal remote access—screen sharing, file transfer, and unattended access all work without payment limits. The interface is straightforward: connect, authenticate, control. For business use, the paid plans ($49–$99/month depending on features) add session recording, multi-monitor support, and priority ...Read more

TeamViewer pros and cons

  • Free for personal use, making it accessible for occasional users helping family and friends without the need to pay for a license.

  • Easy-to-use interface, suitable for users of all technical levels, enhancing user experience.

  • Reliable and stable performance, ensuring stable and uninterrupted connections even over long distances.

  • Convenient for remote troubleshooting, aiding users in helping elderly or less tech-savvy family members.

  • Mistaken identification of personal usage as commercial, leading to potential bans and interruptions for users helping family without commercial intentions.

  • Limited customization and advanced features, potentially restricting the growth of functionalities for power users or business applications.

Very poor business practices

Very poor business practices: Forcefully feeding ads to their paying customers about further paid upgrades. Also a very shoddy pricing model for the products. Choose a competing product instead who actually see their customers as something more as a bag of money!

Appaling customer service, just don't bother!

The software was great when it worked. The customer service was the most appalling i have EVER received. They tried to renew my subscription but without notifying me in advance, just took the money.I ended up having to get it back via the bank. They offered no apology, no way of making it right and basically threatened me that i had to pay.I didn't and they won't be getting it.Absolute joke of a company.

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. Contacted the sales support to renew our Corporate license with fewer channels, they responded they could not deal with a query like this and I had to contact support (already strange). OK, I opened a ticket with support, and two days later still no answer, so I recontact sales, they tell me to call if I think their response time is not fast enough, tone is not getting very nice already. OK, I ask for the phone number, they say "Go check the website", OK I check ...

Sneaky cheeky company only out for money. Rip off artists.

I am a Mac computer and recently casually threw away the team viewer app as I didn't know what it was for. As soon as I did that I couldn't log into my computer. When I called to get some phone support, and was willing to pay for that, the person on the phone said he couldn't help me. The worst Service I've ever had, couple by an app I didn't choose to use and threw it away which is how most of them work.

A market leader with robust features and support, but an aging UI that enjoys nagging you.

What do you like best? TeamViewer just works. I rarely have issues with it. What do you dislike? While the software itself is free to download, you are consistently asked whether your use case is for-profit or not and reminded that if you are using TeamViewer to make money, you need to buy the software. Not the worst paywall out there, to be sure, but the nagging does get old after a while. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? ...

I used them for a few years and then…

I used them for a few years and then started getting notices that I maybe using their software for commercial reasons. I wrote them explaining it is personal so that I can connect from my home computers together and my mother's house to help her. They insist I have to pay for their services now. They get you used to their product and then force you to pay for it. Don't get sucked into their scam. They are scam artists!

100% use and control over distance

What do you like best? What I liked about the team viewer application is the possibility of being able to manage computers when it is away from them is very useful because we can also obtain information and even carry out actions through a computer in the distance, however what is most I like this program is that it is very stable when making the connection or synchronization between devices, which makes the program not very complex What do you dislike? Team viewer is a program ...

The best tool for remote problem solving

What do you like best? What I love most in TeamViewer is actually it's a big plan which allows for me to work from anyplace so long as I've a stable online connection and also the system is actually placed on the device I would like to link to. I love it enables me to work with the colleagues of mine, both remotely and locally. I believe it is good that I can make use of this particular software to back up many other pcs at home, making my job safe since I could support it. What do ...

Locks you in automated payment and does not want to refund money if you are one day into the new contract. Of course cancelling has to go through an obscure website ticket process
