Spotsaas Editor’s POV

TeamViewer's free tier is genuinely useful for occasional personal remote access—screen sharing, file transfer, and unattended access all work without payment limits. The interface is straightforward: connect, authenticate, control. For business use, the paid plans ($49–$99/month depending on features) add session recording, multi-monitor support, and priority ...Read more

TeamViewer pros and cons

  • Free for personal use, making it accessible for occasional users helping family and friends without the need to pay for a license.

  • Easy-to-use interface, suitable for users of all technical levels, enhancing user experience.

  • Reliable and stable performance, ensuring stable and uninterrupted connections even over long distances.

  • Convenient for remote troubleshooting, aiding users in helping elderly or less tech-savvy family members.

Very disappointed with the licencing…

Very disappointed with the licencing model of Teamviewer. I didn't realise when I bought it (about $800!) that the version I bought would stop working when they released the next version if I didn't pay an upgrade fee. And now they have just announced that they are stopping support for the version I have meaning it won't work at all. Waste of money.

TeamViewer.com's illegal annual renewal policy

Be careful of them. They renew your subscription without prior notice and enforce the renewal illegally. They will not refund you, even if you don't use the software anymore. We are protected in South Africa by the Consumer Act against companies renewing annual subscriptions automatically, but it seems like TeamViewer.com has no regard for the law.

Don't be fooled...

As a software it is good but all what's around is horrible, it is THE most expensive by far with the worst after sales service. They will try to gat any money from you. Be careful at renewal of your subscription, if ever needed, they will trick you into expensive services you won't use and if you don't pay they get a third party collecting money company to threaten you even without you using their service.

Money trap, be warned.. 0% customer service

Scam, do not sign up because you will be auto-renewed and although it's licenced using online services and could just be switched off like other products, they will not. They will just invoice you (regardless of if you cancel the renewal 28 days before) and then send debt collectors on you with increased renewal.

Don’t use! You’ll regret it

We cancelled our subscription, didn’t pay for the renewal, they then sent us to collections. I’ve emailed, called, spoke with two people and I’ve been told to pay the credit collector. Not a reputable company, poor customer service and the service itself works 70% of the time at best. Don’t use this company. There are better, more affordable options that are much more reliable.

1 year suscription? you mean 2

I purchased 1 year suscription. Worst decision ever. They will auto-renew a 2nd year, and they will send you a debt collector if you don't pay willingly. They do not care about anything you tell them.I searched the online data of every employee they have, and I'm mailing every one of them asking for help.As a consumer, I would never trust this company.

(a previous business user) so poor, avoid!

(a previous business user) Stay well clear of this company. Their customer service is poor to say the least. Their sales team have lack of understanding. They will also chase loyal customers with debt agencies for their own misunderstandings and wrong doings.Trust me, there are better alternatives

Absolute joke of a company. Hide behind emails and tickets. I have been a loyal customer for years and the way they have treated us is appalling. Forced into paying full price and have cancelled immediately.STAY AWAY FROM TEAMVIEWER, SHADY PRACTICES.
