Spotsaas Editor’s POV

TeamViewer's free tier is genuinely useful for occasional personal remote access—screen sharing, file transfer, and unattended access all work without payment limits. The interface is straightforward: connect, authenticate, control. For business use, the paid plans ($49–$99/month depending on features) add session recording, multi-monitor support, and priority ...Read more

TeamViewer pros and cons

  • Free for personal use, making it accessible for occasional users helping family and friends without the need to pay for a license.

  • Easy-to-use interface, suitable for users of all technical levels, enhancing user experience.

  • Reliable and stable performance, ensuring stable and uninterrupted connections even over long distances.

  • Convenient for remote troubleshooting, aiding users in helping elderly or less tech-savvy family members.

  • Mistaken identification of personal usage as commercial, leading to potential bans and interruptions for users helping family without commercial intentions.

  • Limited customization and advanced features, potentially restricting the growth of functionalities for power users or business applications.

Shameful billing practices and outright liars

A customer for 10 years its a shame that Teamviewer have such distain for people who have for a long time helped to pay their salaries. We rejected their ludicrous quote to continue our annual subscription (which we didn’t ask for to begin with) and told them we were cancelling. Now we’re getting credit collection letters despite the fact we told them to close our account. Another damning review it is then. Some software companies never learn.

Have been using this product for years…

Have been using this product for years as an ICT company for giving support to our customers. A very good advice : stay away as far as possible. We had a payed version until v13. Then we just informed about upgrading to a subscription. Then all went downhill in a very short time. When we told them we would stay with the payed version and not upgrade they started sending us invoices and threats. Now they are finally shutting our accounts down and still sending invoices for a product we did ...

No account, still billing me

I shut down my account, they're still sending me invoices. I can't even log in and they're telling me I owe them money. From the other reviews I see they've just moved into scamming instead of product development. They literally have "if you've received a letter from our debt collection agency" in their phone menu. Scamming is their entire business model.Their customer support is a shambles. Their website is like something from 2001, and the actual software is buggy and slow.

Biggest scam encforcing you into paying…

Biggest scam encforcing you into paying unwanted lisences.Worst experience i have ever had purchasing a license. They force you into loop of licenses costing +€400 a year. They did not send me renewal mail. The day i got invoice i called and they pointed to small letter saying i had to cancel 28days before even though they down deduct the money on the day.I opened ticket but its the typical small letter fight "as pr your contract that" instead of obviously knowing that I am not interested ...

If you are looking for this type of…

If you are looking for this type of software, run a mile from this company. Whilst the software works, as many on this forum have stated, Teamviewer operates with such heavy handedness when trying to cancel a subscription it is appalling. As a business we are always happy to pay for what we use, but these crooks want you to pay for what you do not. They rely on "opt out" clauses in their agreements, meaning unless you opt out you are automatically renewed FOR 12 MONTHS, even if you want to ...

Teamview became a shady company in 2020

I'm Teamviewer customer for last 10 years. The company switched to subscription model in 2016.In 2017 if you did not pay the licence you could still use old version unless clients you were connecting to were also on the same old licence. In 2018 and 2019 the company realised they can actually corner you into paying for the subscription so unless you do not pay it your connection will be terminated!Things got to a different level in 2020 tough. At first I asked if there is any discount due to ...

Our Teamviewer 10 license from 2015…

Our Teamviewer 10 license from 2015 will stop working June 1st. When we bought the license there was no (no, njet, null, none) info about software end of life in 2021.We paid over 800€:s for the software and by changing EULA:s one sided they are forcing us to change to monthly paid model.

Big zero ... a shrunk ship

Once upon a time teamviewer was the top. Now... an abandoned ship. One of the companies I consult, is paying them for 1 year and the accounts still are not enabled... Their phones do not even work. Total zero & unorganized.
