Pricey, but excellent

What do you like best? I like that it is easy to automate collector installation across a variety of infrastructure. What do you dislike? The UI is quite clunky, and lags behind established peers such as Splunk, and up-and-comers such as Google's cloud offering. Recommendations to others considering the product: Definitely give them a try depending on your needs. They are pricey, but worth it at this point, especially if your workload is in AWS. What problems are you solving ...

My Sumo Logic review

What do you like best? I use to have no logs when searching servers till our company found Sumo Logic. This solved an immediate problem. Lots of configurable agents and integration points. What do you dislike? The speed isn't the greatest. Sometimes while searching for things from over a month ago...it really slows down. Query language takes a lot to get to know. Recommendations to others considering the product: Sumo Logic is a good system but it definitely needs more updates ...

Sumo Logic to the rescue

What do you like best? Creating complex search queries is very easy. Parsing the results into a certain format, such as JSON is also very easy. What do you dislike? Speed. When querying something >30 days the search is really slow. I have, however, noticed drastic improvements in the speed in which searches complete so I am guessing Sumo Logic has made great strides in their search speed. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We have ...

Great log analysis tool

What do you like best? Very easy to search for pertinent logging to diagnose issues. So much easier than manually digging through log files. What do you dislike? Slow at times, especially during high load days of the week. This has seemed to improve recently, however, and I hope this trend continues. Recommendations to others considering the product: Make sure you have the correct log level in your applications. Sumo is only as valuable as you make it!!! However it makes ...

Great for log aggregation

What do you like best? It is very useful for log aggregation across multiple application nodes in Amazon Ec2. What do you dislike? There isn't the ability to forward logs to an amazon s3 bucket if you don't ingest the logs What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are trying to improve our time to resolution. With sumologic, we are able to triage an incident much quicker.
