Communication & Messaging App with Ease

What do you like best? I love that all of my communication with my boss and team can be in one place. If I need to turn off notifications or check something specific, Slack can do all of that. Unlike email, important things don't get lost amidst junk mail and personal mail. What do you dislike? If there is a lot happening at once, and people want to carry different conversation on at the same time, there is not a way that I have found to keep them separate. There is only one channel per ...

Good chat system

What do you like best? I like that you can search through chats to identify previous history, I like the display, which is very user friendly, and also like that you can receive email notifications of new slacks when you are not actively logged in. The chat users are easily identifiable, which is very helpful with larger slacks. The help buttons are also There is also a slack app downloadable for desktops (I don't use it, but know it's available. There are also browser add-ons, which make ...

Great tool for work

What do you like best? I like the ability to stay up to date on internal conversations by subscribing to different channels. It keeps me in the know in real time, instead of waiting for a meeting to get updates. On a related note, it also declutters my email inbox, and makes meetings less about updates and more about being productive with our team's time. It's also great for our workplace culture, because I can join groups based on my interests and connect with colleagues on topics that ...

New User, Lifetime User

What do you like best? I consider myself a computer gamer and play games with my friends on a pretty regular basis. We use a very nifty social media/communication tool called Discord, and from the time I picked up Slack I was hooked. It has the same look, feel, and most of the same features that I am already used to in my other program, with the absolutely amazing changes of being rich with work related tools such as file sharing history, etc. I love the layout and the functionality of ...

Super light, clean, live communication channel!

What do you like best? Our paper had no communication channel prior to Slack -- we exchanged phone numbers and emails, and it was horribly inefficient (some of us had group text, some didn't, not everybody was actively checking their phone throughout the day. Groupme and Facebook messenger weren't professional and didn't offer enough flexibility. Slack is perfect because it offers so many options. We have about a hundred different channels for different teams and independent ...

Slack reinvented online chat and became a de facto standard in team communication. Here at 1Password we use it for quick information exchange between groups of people, one-to-one chat, and to keep an eye on notifications from various systems and services.

A fine application

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? The highlights of Slack are the flexibility in adding graphics and icons, the archive feature, and the ability to conduct private conversations with several people. What aspects are problematic or could work better? This isn’t an issue with Slack, but since it is so easy to use that in my organization employees use it for social chats and conversations which means hundreds of messages are sometimes exchanged in an hour. What ...
