Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

quite easy to use, better than illustrator in some ways, but could be more improved

What do you like best? I like to be able to assign styles to text, shapes, etc and have them all change at once. it feels fairly lightweight and fast quite a lot of flexibility, can export to different sizes mostly it has helped me do things quicker. What do you dislike? I dont like the selection model. in illustrator, if i select a group of objects, i can move all of them easily. In sketch, I have to constantly check the "click-through when selecting" if i need to select one ...

i live in sketch

What do you like best? So easy. I can mock up something pixel perfect very quickly, especially with CRAFT, which is a great addition. LOVE the artboard sizes LOVE the easy export What do you dislike? I cant seem to get styles quite right - the fact that I have to create an artboard that is just for my styles is annoying, and I always forget to do it. Which means one of my components is a "master" and if i change it, it changes the style. Also, artboard titles when you zoom ...

My favorite wireframing product

What do you like best? I've been using adobe products for years, especially Illustrator, and Sketch is a great paired down version with great features that help me duplicate pages quickly and create symbols for headers/footers etc. which make prototyping faster. What do you dislike? It seems like there are still some bugs and often I have to restart Sketch to get the curser back or change something. Usually once a day I need to restart the program. Recommendations to others ...

Sketch is an evolving concept

What do you like best? Sketch has a clear understanding of what it wants to be, and has evolved itself into a uniquely useful tool for designers of all types. What do you dislike? Sketch needs more intuitive responsive underpinnings. I understand that would require it to adopt CSS as a part of its framework, but there are other programs that are ahead of Sketch in this area. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It's much faster to create ...

I've been using this product everyday for one year as my standard wireframing tool.

What do you like best? I like that it is flexible enough to accommodate high-fidelity visual design, as well as wireframes. It's also very easy to transition to for those who have prior experience with Adobe Illustrator, Omnigraffle, etc. In addition, there is pretty much a plugin for every possible need if you search hard enough. Translating the wires to dev is also very simple using Sketch. What do you dislike? Sketch can often be buggy, with little details not having the precision ...

Sketch has changed my design process dramitically for the better

What do you like best? The Sketch UI and feature set is much more in sync with modern UI design workflows. For example, adding a drop shadow looks much like adding a drop shadow in CSS. Also, unlike Photoshop, vectors are first class citizens. What do you dislike? It has been somewhat annoying to deal with the bugs. They are however forgivable given the price. Recommendations to others considering the product: Just try it. It's not for every craft or every workflow but it's a great ...

We are now more successful and independent with the help of Sketch!

What do you like best? I find Sketch easier to use and more specialized than Photoshop for quickly developmenting prototype designs that look very professional. I also really appreciate that everything is done with vector graphics (SVGs making everything look crisp and clear. What do you dislike? When I used it I wanted to have a closer integration with InVision, and be able to set hotspots right in my Sketch design without going back and forth between the two applications. Powerful ...

I love this software!

What do you like best? Ease of use, modern, fast, and the ability to create wireframes and as well as visual is a great feature. This software is not as "heavy" as Adobe Creative Suite and the price is reasonable. I have used their customer service a few times and they have always been professional and timely in their response which I appreciate. What do you dislike? Sometimes it can be a little clunkish. There are a lot of bugs but the company does a great job of fixing the bugs and ...
