Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

Excellent software for web graphics

What do you like best? Sketch is very light, can create vectors file and quickly raster PNG. It's a good alternative to photoshop and illustration. What do you dislike? Some functions should be improved, like the resize using the grouped elements with text. I don't had use SketchApp for design a brochure or another project That should go to the press, because I don't think it's able to this works.. Recommendations to others considering the product: Very important are also the ...

Sketch is the best option for User Interface design!

What do you like best? I love how lightweight Sketch is as a software, and the file types. They are super easy to transfer to co-workers vs Adobe files that always take forever. I also love the huge community that has been built around sketch. There are so many free resources online, including free assets that save hundreds of hours when creating mockups. What do you dislike? I dislike that Sketch still has some limited functionality in formatting text. I also wish they would slowly ...

A versatile and streamlined tool for designing.

What do you like best? I enjoy the ease of use when creating designs and bringing them to life. What do you dislike? It does not have every feature like that of its counterpart Adobe Illustrator Recommendations to others considering the product: They have an extensive trial period that will get you hooked as soon as you try it. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? UI and UX designs are a primary focus when laying out websites.

Review of Sketch for UX

What do you like best? The ability to create and use symbols makes working with sketch much easier. It's quick to create wireframes this way. I also like the use of artboards to organize my pages. Sketch is also great because our designers are also using it to create creative comps - this way we're using the same program and there's no need to switch in and out of other applications. I like that the final product looks professional and finished and it's easy to export all artboards to ...

Still Learning

What do you like best? My favorite aspects are the symbol and typography style organization. The simplicity and speed is nice, and I also like the open source 3rd party plugin capabilities. What do you dislike? Switching from Adobe UI to sketch. It takes a little while to get the hang of key commands. I do like that you can create your own. Scaling typography is also difficult, since you can't use box handles, and must always use the type tool column to scale text as a block. What ...

Great product to create from wire-frame to hi-fi Mobile App + Web designs.

What do you like best? We love Sketch at Digital Design NYC (Brick & Portal parent. We have not only designed all of our client apps in it but also have now used the invision integration to build out simple lo-fi wireframes and make them fully dynamic and clickable for the client to understand the different flows and live through the scenarios. What do you dislike? Invision prototyping integration sometimes has bugs and breaks. I don't like that the app only works on OS and windows ...

So collaborative!

What do you like best? Love this tool, find it really increases our productivity. Symbols are an awesome way to keep things consistent within our team! What do you dislike? Tools for exporting to different formats could be a bit better, right now it seems to output to lower res images. Would be nice to have more options around export types. Recommendations to others considering the product: Do it! It has a free trial so nothing to loose! If you are doing UI / UX Design it's a must ...

My favorite design program EVER

What do you like best? The plethora of features, while also keeping a very simple and fast interface What do you dislike? Not the best for creating icons, I still use other programs for that. Also, photo editing is not really a thing. Would be great to have a litte more for those two things! Also, more ability to create prototypes right from Sketch. Additionally....every time they do a full-number update (such as updating to v46 the software is buggy to the point where it can hinder ...

Sketch succeeded while others fell short

What do you like best? Sketch understands what the app or website developer needs and what they are looking for. What do you dislike? Their open platform allows for plugins, but with updates it can sometimes screw up the interface What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It makes the hand off from designer to developer much easier.
