Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

The only UX / UI tool you should use

What do you like best? Sketch took what Adobe did with Photoshop and Illustrator and married them into something that is user friendly and constantly evolving. Great for mocking up user interfaces. With the new implementation of shared libraries, it's simple to keep all of your assets up to date. This type of feature was requested by users and was incorporated after some testing. This type of thing happens all the time as Sketch constantly pushes new versions of their app. What do you ...

Best tool for app and web designers

What do you like best? Switching from PS to sketch for app and web design makes you're life much easier. The tools are easy to use and files easily exportable to work seamlessly with engineers. What do you dislike? Not much I can really complain about. Love the software. Recommendations to others considering the product: This is the best designing tool on the market. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Sketch makes it much easier to ...

King of UX Design Tools

What do you like best? The ease of use. The strong focus on user interface development permeates throughout Sketch’s core features — and this is what sold me on Sketch. Of course, Sketch comes with all the bread and butter tools that — symbols, pixel precision, grids and layout guides, vector editing, a plethora of export and import options and powerful collaboration tool integrations; but more than their availability, it’s the implementation that Sketch’s community has come to love and ...

Using Sketch

What do you like best? Great Interface makes it easy to use compared to other softwares What do you dislike? Sometimes I’d rather just create entire designs in Photoshop so that I only have to use one program What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Helps me prototype sites and mobile design easily

Sketch Review

What do you like best? I love the flexibility and ease of use with this tool! It has made my process working alone, and also on a team so much easier! My ability to create lo fidelity wireframes or hi-fidelity visual mocks and flows are significantly faster than using any other software. I will definitely never go back! What do you dislike? Some integrations with Craft and other third party plugins are still a work in progress. If Sketch can support a lot of these features (ie: ...

Lightweight tool -great for design

What do you like best? Lightweight & inexpensive. Good for diagramming but lacks higher polish IMO What do you dislike? Took me longer to pick up than I expected but I was coming from years and years of photoshop. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Diagramming. Flows etc.

Very Basic User

What do you like best? My company uses Sketch when we start a project. It is the easiest tool for us to digitally lay our ideas out there and get the project started. We find Sketch to be simpler than photoshop therefore a more preferred choice when just throwing around ideas. From there we can easily translate those ideas to illustrator without having to get into photoshop. The fact that it doesn't have all the robust photoshop features makes it easier to use quickly. I also like the ...

Sketch is a Phenomenal Tool

What do you like best? I like that Sketch was created specifically with UX/UI design in mind, there are so many aspects of it that are tailored specifically for digital design including color handling, symbol creation and typography among others. What do you dislike? I don't like that sketch has trouble handling shapes. It can get very glitchy when it comes to resizing any sort of shape combinations which creates frustrations with creating symbols and icons. Recommendations to others ...

Sketch brings advancements to Web Design

What do you like best? I love that it has so many features that help design websites, but also helps us developers out. There are so many things this software does that Photoshop doesn't. Everything is vector base which helps when it comes to building for mobile responsiveness. It even has a great community for plugins that help speed up designing as well. What do you dislike? Honestly there isn't anything to dislike. It provides everything that is needed to be successful for designing ...

Good for multiple projects!

What do you like best? Sketch is one of the newer apps out there readily available for users to explore when it comes to design, among many others but for half the cost. I enjoyed using the trial for graphic design, illustration and UI. It is a great tool for many other types of projects, such as mobile wireframes, UI elements, web and mobile applications, etc. I think Sketch will be (if it isn't already a great alternative to competitors in the near future. What do you dislike? I ...
