Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

Quick iterations and pretty versatile app

What do you like best? Being able to iterate fairly quickly as well as its layout What do you dislike? It can slow down your system and cant handle as much as Adobe can, but is getting better with each version. The plugins for it are so-so Recommendations to others considering the product: Web Designers, app designers, this app is a great way to iterate your products. Give it a try! What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Quick web design ...

Great for beginners and experienced

What do you like best? Sketch is a great tool for beginners to do basic design and for experienced designers to transition from Adobe or other products. The integration with inVision makes building and updating mockups quick and easy. What do you dislike? Not much to dislike. I would say the only thing would be the layering and symbol libraries can be confusing for beginners What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Going from design to ...

Easy to Use for First Timer

What do you like best? The interface design and variety of design tools. What do you dislike? Confusion with design boards and my own individual learning curve from knowing the Adobe Suite too well. Recommendations to others considering the product: Give yourself time to get familiar with the interface before diving into a fresh project. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Creating interface designs more effectively and easily for my ...

Brian's Sketch Review

What do you like best? Love Sketch's ease of use and integration with prototyping tools like Invision. Sketch is very intuitive and simple, but powerful enough to create beautiful interfaces of any fidelity. Especially love the ability for the community to build plugins to improve. What do you dislike? Sometimes a little buggy. Should incorporate the most useful plugins into product to keep them updated and all working What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have ...

Awesome tool!

What do you like best? I love the simplicity of Sketch and how easy it is to learn. I love the community behind it and all the support and plugins. What do you dislike? I can't think if what i don't like much about the tool in all honesty. Maybe if it had a bit more options and tools like illustrator, but then again, it might make it more bulky and lose it's slick UI. Recommendations to others considering the product: It might seem a bit complicated at first, or maybe a little ...

Looking forward to learning more!

What do you like best? Sketch has been a great addition to our studio's web design flow. Being able to design entire websites without the messy folders of Photoshop files, then send them directly to our developer, has been great. What do you dislike? There's a bit of a learning curve, as with any program. (Looking forward to getting to know it better! What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Sketch is cutting down on our web design and ...

Sketch is amazing

What do you like best? The multiple art boards is the best feature. I love that I can do user design or screen design for apps without having to manage billion program files. Sketch is fast and the plugins are amazing. What do you dislike? So it embeds all the assets in the project file. Which is great, but, it makes the program files sometimes really ballon in size. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I have sped up my design workflow by ...

Sketch is great for the designers new to vector images!

What do you like best? This sounds weird, but the information hierarchy - it's a lot less intimidating than other products like Adobe Illustrator that present so many creation options up front. What do you dislike? Not much - I guess the only thing is that until you actually insert shapes, it looks... too barebones? All of the insertion options are hidden inside the insert button at the top and until you notice it, there's not much you can do. Recommendations to others considering the ...

Easy For Comps

What do you like best? When I have the liberty and time to go straight to comps (an established page that just requires some small UI changes I can count on sketch to help me quickly visualize these tweaks What do you dislike? There is no native PDF exporting a far as I know? I have to use a plugin which works well for now. Recommendations to others considering the product: Use this for comps. If you are creating a page from scratch there are better ways to do so. You dont want to ...
