Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

So Good, It Hurts

What do you like best? Clean, beautiful interface. Fast and efficient for building workflows and mockups. Even works for print design if you're in a pinch and hate Adobe products as much as I do. Helps me replace using Illustrator all day. What do you dislike? Would love more print design, ie non-web design, features. More templates and tools for social media marketing. There are a few bugs that could be worked out. Would love to see more alignment with Adobe Illustrator tools and ...

Simple yet powerful for product design

What do you like best? Everything I need up to prototyping for product design. There is almost no learning curve which is unusual and impressive for a tool of this calibre. The third-party plugins are a huge asset. One can find a plugin for any need. There are many plugins of quality that can elevate your product and design game. It's helpful to periodically browse the Sketch updates for new features, bug fixes, and plugins. I've gain new design skills or optimized my workflow via ...

New standard for web and apps UI/UX design

What do you like best? What I like most is for sure the simplicity. Imagine if they removed everything you don't use in photoshop and added the remaining features in a cleaner UI. And even better, it costs a lot less than Adobe programs (mid/long term. But don't get me wrong, being simple doesn't mean it isn't powerful - it has everything you need to general layout and vector drawing. Another thing that helps my development team a lot is the fact that it is very easy to share multiple ...

Design for everyone

What do you like best? Easy to use tool with all the basic functions I need to make clean, branded content for social media (ex: resizing, exporting as jg/gif, color and contrast editing, type face, etc. Our design team provides me templates in Sketch and then I can play around and make loads of different content all on my own. What do you dislike? Sometimes the art boards and layers are finicky and I end up grabbing the wrong things...but I'm sure this is more user error than anything ...

sketch review

What do you like best? Ease of usability for everyone. The program is easy to pick up on, not nearly as intimidating as photoshop. Great videos out there for everyone to learn from and only the controls that you need without insane amounts of photo editing options that are offered through larger design programs. What do you dislike? There really hasn't been any issues with the program thus far What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? ...

The new standard

What do you like best? I learned to be a designer using Adobe products. And I never had any issues, never wished I could do something faster or more efficient. And then my company turned to Sketch. Honestly I dread opening Illustrator now. First, Sketch is designed as a native application for the Mac OS so it runs smoother, feels lighter, and integrates with the overall experience of my computer so much better. Second, it's ridiculously easy to pick up and start using. It's an insanely ...

Great for designing websites and apps

What do you like best? Sketch is easy to use from day 1. While my background is in Adobe Creative Cloud, I think Sketch is simple enough that even a newbie can jump in and get started. It's best used for designing websites and apps, and has multiple size templates for different devices. Once you get started, you can become fluent in the app in just a few days. What do you dislike? Sketch isn't great for creating logos or illustrations...it's best to use Illustrator and Photoshop for ...

Excellent High-Resolution Mockup Tool

What do you like best? I like that Sketch makes it super quick to produce anything from simple wireframes, all the way up to high-resolution mockups, and to easily export elements as SVG or PNGs. What do you dislike? Annual renewal cost, upgrade costs, and that it is Mac-only. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you don't have a mockup or vector illustration tool yet, Sketch is an excellent and viable alternative to large programs such as Illustrator or ...
