Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

Great tool for prototyping and presentation

What do you like best? It's easy to use and prototype out a new project design so that stakeholders can see the exact flow of the comps prior to it being built. What do you dislike? It doesn't have the most seamless presentation aspects. It's a bit clunky in that respect. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Sketching out what the product will look like, how it will flow from page to page and what all of the conditional buttons will direct ...

When it works its awesome

What do you like best? The price is right and it runs faster than Illustrator. Importing files is simple. What do you dislike? To be fair, more recent versions may be improved. However, using it 2014-present I've run into loads of bugs with this program. For some reason, certain files will have features just not working at all and it slows the workflow to a crawl. I have to be very Zen about it. The results look good at the end of the day if you make it through. What problems are you ...

Sketch is fucking great

What do you like best? The team at Sketch really optimized certain parts of the design experience. They designed this app from experience. What do you dislike? Nothing so far! I really love everything. The only difference is the shortcuts. Recommendations to others considering the product: Go ahead and take a quick tutorial before jumping in. A lot is the same as illustrator, but there are subtle differences in shortcuts I had to unlearn. What problems are you solving with the ...

Easy to use and very quick to get started

What do you like best? Able to create design mockups and layouts quickly using same elements over again across pages. Can create design systems and reuse elements. Can share designs through sketch cloud. What do you dislike? Only available for Mac. With multiple teams and a variety of environments would be good to suit more. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? To quickly create design mockups and realized the need for detailed design systems

Super helpful - from wireframing to design

What do you like best? I love that it has tools that help me communicate to a developer exactly what I want. Fluidity in design is easy using toolbar setting for objects. What do you dislike? Working with type can be difficult - needs more typesetting tools and functions. Recommendations to others considering the product: Try it before you knock it! What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Creating wireframes and designs that can easily ...

Absolutely best design tool

What do you like best? It's quick to load, so much faster than Photoshop/Illustrator, and capable of doing as little as wireframes to high fidelity templates. What do you dislike? They updated the version at one point where it wasn't backward compatible with older files... Also, it's only available for Mac. I wish it was available on Windows too. Recommendations to others considering the product: Sketch is great if you already have a Mac, but I'm not sure if it's worth converting to ...

The best and easiest to use app for UX work

What do you like best? Clean interface, great support and easy for anyone to get up and running. It has many more advanced features, objects and nested symbols. Perfect for wireframing to icon design. What do you dislike? It can be a bit buggy at times, hard to select objects if app is open for too long. But this is infrequent. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Mainly using it for intensive wireframing and icon design. Wireframes can be ...
