Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

Best design kit

What do you like best? I love that with Sketch, you're able to basically get everything done as a UX designer. You can mockup, prototype, and even link screens. The ability to preview them in a specific size is great. A great thing I love is that I am able to easily create symbols and then reuse and modify them, so then I don't have to recreate items. What do you dislike? I dislike that there aren't many animations. There are only about 5 and even then, the animations don't work that ...

Sketch is an efficient and flexible design tool

What do you like best? I like that everything runs smoother on this program. The interface is simple to understand and easy to learn. You can make as many artboards as you want, and it naturally makes design elements centered for you and gives you automatic dimensions to work from depending on the format of the design. What do you dislike? I dislike that the prototyping addition is not as powerful as other prototyping software. Recommendations to others considering the product: If ...

The power of illustrator, with superior usability

Simply awesome!

What do you like best? The ease at which everything is accessible and just works out of the box is something none of the other design apps have. Sketch stands out when it comes to doing design in terms of UI. One more thing that I liked the support for various plugins, because if there was something that Sketch couldn't do, there would always be a plugin available that could do the same. It is a powerhouse when it comes to managing assets since they brought in the symbols support, which ...

Sketch is not sketchy

What do you like best? Very easy to use, like the functions... allows me to follow my company's style guide through craft manager. The shortcuts are also bomb. What do you dislike? The plugins work well sometimes, sometimes they don't. If I have to sign in to InVision one more time, I'm gonna freak out. Recommendations to others considering the product: Definitely try it out... I'm not sure if it has the same level of functionality and Adobe Illustrator, but I find it to flow much ...

Great for every design

What do you like best? Sketch isn’t not only great for wire frames and prototypes, but I even use it to make draft flyers and full presentations. It’s super easy to understand and highly intuitive. What do you dislike? Some functionality with unassigned shortcuts could use shortcuts and/or could be added to a more prominent location in the toolbars based on how often they are used. Or the option to customize ones own toolbar would be best. What problems are you solving with the ...
