Shortcut pros and cons

  • Offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface, making task tracking and project management straightforward even for non-technical users.

  • Smooth integration with popular tools like GitHub, Zendesk, and Slack, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and communication.

  • Simplifies sprint planning, bug tracking, and task prioritization with features like Stories, Epics, Milestones, and drag-and-drop functionality.

  • Minimal initial configuration required, making it ideal for small teams and startups looking for fast deployment.

  • Lack of robust undo (CMD+Z) or history functionality can lead to data loss and user frustration.

"I brought shortcut to my current company nearly 4 years ago and still like it."

What do you like best about Shortcut? The best part of shortcut is the intuitive UI and the easy way to have everyone collaborating in backlog management. I also like the integrations, e.g. with slack. What do you dislike about Shortcut? I wouldn't say I like that it shows up closed epics or archived teams in the ticket dropdown; this is an easy point for failure. Also we rely on the api and even years after shortcut released iterations this field is still not available thru the api. We do ...

"Great project management software"

What do you like best about Shortcut? Shortcut is easy to use and relatively easy to learn. I really like how easy it is to assign tasks to individuals and collaborate with them. I enjoy the ability to create custom workflow steps. What do you dislike about Shortcut? I wish there was a more customizable estimator for tickets. The options which are available now are more rigid and do not fit our model. We need to use comments to manually add estimations. What problems is Shortcut solving and ...

What do you like best about Shortcut? Shortcut is exceptionally intuitive to use, offering minimal friction to tracking/sharing progress. "Shortcut - Provides all of the required functionality of a good project tracking solution."

What do you like best about Shortcut? I enjoy the easy-to-use interface the most. What do you dislike about Shortcut? I would like for improvements on the UX side of things, I find it annoying that if I accidentally click on space around a project, it reverts to the dashboard. Just give me a new window for a project I pull from the queue, please. What problems is Shortcut solving and how is that benefiting you? We are using shortcut to help track workflow. Shortcut works well. We are new ...

"Excellent & Adaptable Product!"

What do you like best about Shortcut? The ability for groups to collaborate and comment on stories and epics is incredibly valuable for my team. It helps to keep us organized, to set clear expectations and to understand how a piece of work changed as it went through the development process. What do you dislike about Shortcut? I would love the ability to create a Stories template. There are pieces of information that I want to ensure I include on every story we work on. Having a template ...

"Good for staying organized, but sometimes buggy"

What do you like best about Shortcut? The multiple filters and automatic analytics What do you dislike about Shortcut? Sometimes it can be laggy. "Not as good as Jira"

What do you like best about Shortcut? It took a while to get used to it, and it now serves our team's needs. Hard to say what I like best. I prefer Jira for several reasons and feel I am constantly comparing. It is ok to show a roadmap view and once you figure it out, you can navigate based on a hierarchy of Tasks -> Stories -> Epics -> Milestones. That is beneficial for planning and running sprints and stand up with the teams. I do like how when you have all your stories pointed out, the ...
