I have really enjoyed having this, reading a lot more than I used to.

I have really enjoyed having this service. I am reading and listening to so many more books rather than watching TV. Seems like all the negative reviews are for people who had a hard time cancelling or forgot they subscribed. Scribd needs to figure that piece out because otherwise I think its really great for people who want to use it. While I can't find every single book I'd like to read I find a lot either in written or audio format. I've enjoyed using it so far and use it every day.

Crashing issues

I keep seeing everyone say that even after you cancel your subscription, they still continue to take your money without any repercussions whatsoever. I've had nothing but problems since I started using the app. It CONSTANTLY crashes!!!!!! When it works, it's great. Again crashing & constant buffering (NOT from me not having internet either) is just a ridiculous inconvenience that definitely shouldn't be happening. I recently discovered that i was being charged for 4 years after i ended my subscription! That means I have been charged around 400 euros, for a service that i haven't used and i unsubscribed from. It's outrageous and a fraud.

impossible to cancel the service

I signed up for the trial month and although I unsubscribed, I was charged the cost for 9 months. I had to block my card in order not to receive further charges, because the website is not working. I'll let you know if they refund me

Poor Business Policies, Poor Customer Service-Impossible to Cancel

Back in October 2020 I found a textbook I needed for an online class. I noted the 30-day free subscription date, and cancelled (clearly, based on other reviews, cancelling doesn't actually happen), but was charged monthly for two years (including at an increased rate). I NEVER went back on the site and NEVER read/downloaded any materials except that textbook (which I have paid over $250 for). I got very frustrated when my account was not canceled (I remember canceling it) and I got charged by Scribd. But then I was able to quickly get a refund. Very happy with that process. Lets see how long it takes for the refund to arrive...

worst experience ever

the website keep telling me to upload five files so i can get a file i need for my education for free ... i uploaded about 17 files and still couldn't get nothing that's not professional at all and the worst part is they keep telling me to upload more but couldn't get anything cuz everytime i upload the files they requested from me i couldn't access to the website after finish uploading

This company makes it very hard to cancel your subscription. this also includes a misleading cancelation page. It took me about 9 months (if it works this time) to cancel my subscription. This time I even informed my cc company.
