The Scribd audiobook app is broken

The Scribd audiobook app is broken. It stops and buffers forever until you close it, reopen it, select the book title, and wait for it to restart. This happens every 5 minutes or so and in areas with strong data signals. Bummed but I'll never subscribe again.

For me it has been really great. Scribd has a wide range of titles from which to choose. In my case, I can choose from DSM-V TR or Becks cognitive therapy which are specialized books. Or go for a more general author like Auster or Bukowski. I think the amount of information regarding many topics found in books, pdf, magazines and articles, really gives Scribd an edge over other services. On top of that, it is really easy to navigate, to read and to find books, and the only time I needed ...

Bait and Switch

Company has a wealth of audiobooks to choose from. However, if you are reading a series, you get about three of those books a month before the rest of the series is unavailable until the 11th/12th of the following month. That’s not “unlimited books” for a monthly price. That’s “books of our companies’ choice” for a monthly price.

I really love this app

I really love this app. Super easy to operate and a five quite a bit of selection to choose from. Would definitely suggest anyone that likes to listen to books to get this app.

Check your credit card statements for FRAUD from Scribd

I have been getting a $9.44 monthly charge on my credit card for at least the past 4 years from Scribd. I reached out to customer service back in August 2022 to stop the charges but never got a reply; I reached out again about a month ago and this time got a reply. It turns out my credit card had been linked to an "anonymous account" where there is an active subscription under the account but no user actually attached to it. My humble opinion

For me, this is a very good service. The ratio of price/service is acceptable. Here and there I don't find titles I wish there are, but there is always something else. You can always find lots of additional titles in the "documents" section, uploaded by users. I see there are many negatives when people try to cancel subscriptions, can't say about it since I don't plan to do it (as long as the service doesn't degrade).

Largest audiobook selection.

Scribed has many more titles than Audible and my public library. It is fairly priced. Books are available immediately with no wait time. I only wish they had more ebook titles.

I had no access to the entire library

I had no access to the entire library. When I wanted to read some books I was denied. I could only read documents in PDF and listen to some audios. Lounting service, do not fulfill what they say.

Absolutely love Scrid

Absolutely love Scrid! As a lifetime heavy reader. It's wonderful to have such variety.
