Still waiting

I am disappointed with this company’s cancelation system. I canceled, received a email of confirmation of cancellation, but continue to be charged monthly. Luckily I look at my credit card statements, but I fear many people are being charged after having thought they had canceled. The worst is the non-human customer support and inability to deal with this immediately.

Can't stop Scribd taking my money. Now they are taking twice as much

I acquired one book I wanted from Scribd, and subscribed to do it, but cancelled immediately after as I had no need of an ongoing subscription. A few months later I noticed they were still charging me. I was unable to log in as I had cancelled, so signed in again and cancelled immediately and began a conversation with their support. I feel tricked. Hard to cancel.

They make the cancellation process extremely opaque on purpose to trick you. Make sure you click through the 4-5+ times it takes to actually cancel, or else they’ll keep charging you, without any monthly reminder that they’re taking your money!! I only found out I was still paying for it months later after being emailed that they couldn’t charge my account. I feel scammed and icky.

I love all of the audiobook options

I love all of the audiobook options. I occasionally use it for regular books but since I listen to audiobooks at work, that’s my main focus and this app has been amazing. It’s fantastic!!

I love the selection of books that Scribd offers. I prefer to read a book and not really the biggest fan of audiobooks. I also belong to kindle unlimited and Scribd has a much better offering of more current authors for the price.

It’s a good app but wish there was more young adult selections. Some of the books that are on there need to have the next book or the rest of the series added on.

If you try to cancel, make sure you actually did!!

I decided to try Scribd again (had it previously) because they had a book that I wanted to read, so I did the free one month, and after a month they start charging you. I didn't like the book and browsed a little to see if there was something else I wanted, but it was all pretty much stuff I could get as eBooks from the library. So I cancelled before I'd get charged, or I thought I did.....you have to select 'Continue to Cancellation' at least three, maybe four times and it's hidden at the ...

Impossible to cancel account

I have been subscribed to Scribd for a couple years. Today I decided to cancel my subscription because I'm not using it much. It was impossible to cancel and I had to call my credit card company to have the charges blocked. This is what I went through for a couple hours before calling the credit card company. Once I created an account just to see the libraries. I canceled my membership after seeing the content of the website that did not have my favorite scientific books. There couldn't be a bigger surprise for me!
