Terrible, deceptive cancellation process
Terrible. I though I had cancelled several months ago, and yet Scribd was still charging my card. I went to the site today to double-check that I cancelled, and I saw that it makes you click cancel no less than THREE TIMES to actually cancel! Ridiculously deceptive. I still don't trust that they will stop charging my card. Edit: The site is also not letting me remove my card info now. I am concerned.

Charging me twice for one membership
Charging me twice for one membership! Then they say they cannot refund payments if you claim after 30 days. This is unacceptable. Do not open a membership account with this company.

HAD TO CHANGE DEBIT CARD ACCOUNT
Honestly one of the worst companies I’ve given my money to to date, because SCRIBD is what forced me to CHANGE my card. I canceled my subscription to Scribd, only to find that FIVE MONTHS later they were still charging me. There was no number they could be reached at so I had to get my bank to call them, and they said they could not refund me for ANY of the additional charges because it was “past the due date” to file a request for my money back - all this when I ALREADY CANCELED my ...

Thieves
I've been fighting them to stop charging my account for months now. This company basically is stealing from people who they tell they will no longer charge and then charge anyway.

Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company. Underhanded, fraudulent company that trick you into thinking you've cancelled yet continue to charge your card. I only realized today after reading my statement. Scam masquerading as ebooks platform, what a great business model! Rot in hell.

This company is the biggest SCAM
This company has the worst customer service and steals money. I subscribed for the free month and used the website to look at one book one time. After I used it, I canceled the account. To cancel the account it asks you 3 or 4 times if "you are sure you want to cancel". I canceled the account and there were no charged and then all of a sudden after 2 months of the account being canceled they started charging my bank account. I got a notification from bank a few days ago and it showed all ...

Far from unlimited reading
It is false to claim that you get unlimited reading. They regularly pull back your saved books and prevent you accessing them until some given date in the future. Better off not saving any titles at all. I am not renewing my membership. It has been getting more and more restrictive over time.

This is a FRAUDULENT company
This is a FRAUDULENT company. Do NOT sign up. I have cancelled the membership. If you DARE to charge me, I will contact my credit card company and have you reported. Please do NOT try.

Impossible to cancel!
Cancelled subscription multiple times. Have multiple cancellation confirmation emails from August, September, January and June. Still getting charged 8.99/month. Reached out to customer service and was told I reactivated my account in September (I didn't), that I used documents (I didn't), and that I didn't cancel my membership until June (false - cancelled it in August, September and January). So far have been overcharged almost 100 dollars!

Don't Just Don't
I am hopeful that Scribd will resolve my issue. I'll let you know if they do. In the mean time do not go anywhere near them. I signed up for a free 30 day subscription to help my son with his GCSE's last April 2018. I cancelled it almost immediately as all I had wanted was access to a physics paper, which I never received. I had an email confirming that they had cancelled it and confirmation that my card had not been charged; (luckily I have this evidence) as they have in fact been charging ...
