False Advertising/fraud

False Advertising/fraud They tell you that you have unlimited access, but once you read a few books the available content diminishes to the point of barely any selection at all. When asked about it they feed you non stop lines about some "catalog rotation" but none of it makes a lick of sense. The books are available to my friends, but not to ME. We are paying the same amount of money for the same service, so why can they see and download books that I can't? They told me that the 5 books I ...

Never signed up

Yesterday I received a sign-up e-mail from Scribd, though I've never signed up. Scribd got my mail and name from some other service. Unpleasent and illegal.

My experience with Scribd

The Scribd business-model with license-to-read but not buy the books was just what I liked. The price was not unreasonable because I read pretty much. Besides, a lot of the books was not available in the other license-to-read company I use. BUT: some months ago I was asked to update my billing information or my membership would expire. And now the "funny" thing happened : I could not find any way to pay. My Visa debit card was not accepted, my Mastercard was not accepted, and Paypal is ...

CONSUMER BEWARE!

Couldn't even sign up because of their stupid site not accepting any of my cards. Customer service requested my ID to prove who I was; which I will not be giving, especially when I come across an incredibly poor rating for them on Trustpilot. I fear they have secretly 'captured' every credit and debit card I have entered into their website and will (at some point); start charging them when I'm not even subscribed. Very untrustworthy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I cancelled my membership but Scribd still charged me

I cancelled my membership following the 30-day trial but I checked my bank account and Scribd has been charging me $8.99 monthly 6 months following the time I signed up with them. This company is a scam and manipulates people thinking they cancelled their membership but still charges them without them knowing. I have spent nearly $60 without even knowing for HALF A YEAR. Anyone who considers signing up with Scribd, DO NOT. DO NOT even sign up for a free-trial from them. I demand a refund ...

As others have said

As others have said - subscription scam. They bill your credit card/Paypal without warning.

Unable to remove card details.

Have cancelled my free trial yet there is still no way to remove my credit card details from their system. The negative reviews regarding fraudulent charges after canceled subscriptions makes me quite concerned about this. Terrbible business.

Fraudulent charges, Scam company

Scribt is a fraudulent company billing through Adyen. Charges are made on the credit card monthly. We never subscribed to Scribt nor authorized any billing nor made any purchase of any sort. Scribt has no phone number, no address, no contact. We never at any time did business with Scribt or Adyen.
