SCRIBD is a SCAM! Unauthorized Charges!

I cancelled my Scribd account in March. I noticed a charge on my account for $8.99 on 9/19. Upon forget review I was charged by Scribd $8.99 in July and August. I attempted to contact customer service via 4158969890 and there was a message stating that customer service was only handled online. I attempted to request a refund online and was sent a message by “Tesh” stating that they couldn’t find my charge and to send additional information. I sent a screenshot of the charges as well as the ...

SCRIBD’S “UNLIMITED ACCESS” to ebooks and audiobooks is MISLEADING, FALSE ADVERTISING

I was initially very enthused about using Scribd, so much so that I subscribed for a full year! What I have discovered since subscribing however is that “unlimited access” is a hype, especially when it comes to audiobooks. I cannot access any audiobook at this time after having listened to perhaps just three maybe four of them. I have written to customer service and received the same vague language buried on the site about instances in which content has to be limited. I do not yet know if ...

DO NOT USE SCRIBD

Scribd started charging me since 2017 without sending me any invoice, subscription email, or even declined payment. When a payment is declined, they would secretly charged you in few days as soon as your bank balance becomes positive. I’m more than certain that they are deliberately omitting their responsibility of notifying their subscribers regarding the bank charges and continued plan and intending to take advantage from people’s ignorance of this small monthly charge.

dishonest practices

I can't say that I will ever find out how I feel about them since I never got around to using the "free" trial I signed up for. I almost forgot to cancel but figured if I hadn't used it in two months, I probably wouldn't. Anyway, I went to cancel my subscription - a day before the date it stated on my receipt that my account would be charged - and, turns out they decided to go ahead and charge my account a day early. Instead of cancelling, they then offered to extend that "free" trial. I ...
