Fraudulent lack of info about tax charge in sign up email. Very happy to let you go into the charging part of a subscription without warning you. Bad practice.

Charged 11.99 for one month of subscription instead of the 9.99 in the signing up email (NO MENTION OF THE TAX ANYWHERE THERE). I basically forgot I had subscribed to Scribd, wouldn't have wanted to extend the trial, but massively object to their failure to warn me that the trial period was ending. This is unfair and is the sort of behaviour that gets you such a low rating on Trustpilot. Thank goodness PayPal alerted me to the charge being made.

This company is a scam!

I must have clicked on a document online through Scribd at some point recently. I just checked my bank statement and they have been charging me £10.79 for the past two months without my consent. No emails, no receipts, nothing. I don’t have a single email from them about signing up for an account. How is this legal? I’m awaiting a response from their customer service team via Facebook messenger and expect a full refund. This company is a scam. AVOID.

Stay away does feel like a fraudulent website

I have no idea where this (Scribd) charge has come on to my card and have tried everything but I don't think I even have a login into the website. Have raised many tickets to resolve this, but not heard back yet. Not unlimited, not even close.

Unlimited is an out and out lie. I downloaded 6 audiobooks and the next day half were no longer available. Couldn't access them for a month. The next day more of my audiobooks were removed, leaving me with one. The only other audiobooks I can access are those in the public domain which are free anywhere. When I complained I got some lame story about them shifting their catalog. Huh? Without the selection available at Audible or the lower prices of Chirp, Walmart audiobooks or Cloud Library ...

I would leave 0 stars if I could. I singed up for the free trial and cancelled before the 30 days was over. They started charing me $8.99 a month. They're only point of contact is through email and i cannot speak with anyone. They have been giving me the run around. Their sneaky

Their sneaky. Signed up for free trial. Did not like titles offered so I cancelled within the ten day look. What they do is not show the cancellation and start charging your card. I did not notice for a few months then caught it. So they stole a lot from me. They just claim you never cancelled. There dishonest. To respond: what the scam is a person will cancel. This website is sneaky

This website is sneaky - it tries to get your information to use the site for free but then wants your credit card and $10 a month to use after its free trial. Edit: then in 2024 you forget that some little website where you wanted to view something for ten minutes ended up costing you hundreds of dollars.

Hacked account-still unresolved

I've heard terrible reviews of Scribd, but I didn't think it could all be true. Unfortunately, their support really is quite terrible. My account was hacked the week of Nov 4th. On Nov 13th,I email them and wait several DAYS for them to even acknowledge my email. Today is Nov. 18th--still no solution. This is a scam

This is a scam, I canceled my account effective February 5, 2019 and just realized that they were still charging me! I deleted the account, but you still have my payment details. I want the money back and for the charges to end completely, and I want confirmation that you will no longer be charging my account. My support ticket number is #2402841 and I want this done now.
